Child size wheelchair question

Looking to rent a wheelchair for an adult with CP. She is less than 5 feet tall (probably 4'8-4'10) & weighs 94-96 lbs. Wheelchair will not be used all day just for when she gets tired.

My question is a child size wheelchair 16" seat? Does that seem to be the right size? Or is there one smaller I'm not seeing?

Also Apple Scooter & KM Rentals are the one sites I've seen with child sizes. Are there any others?

they do make 12" seats..I used to be in one full time. just not sure if you can rent them from any of the usual companies.

I think a 16" chair is the smallest you are likely to find in rentals, and it should be ok for her size. If you dig hard enough you might find a 14" chair, but didn't find any on a quick look; and I think a 12" seat might be too small anyway. Not all vendors will have anything smaller than standard size, so make sure to ask for it.

In addition to the vendors you mention, I also saw 16" offered by Walker. There may be others as well.

The standard adult chairs the parks and most of the places rent are 20 inches wide, so 16 is actually a lot smaller already.
A 16 inch seat should work just fine for your situation. If you are concerned it won't be small enough, an easy way to measure to measure a chair she sits in at home or have her sit on a tape measure.
In the case of a wheelchair, a little too big is better then a bit too small because the too small one will be pressing on her all the time.

The companies mentioned already in the thread are the ones I am aware rent smaller chairs (I'm pretty sure Care Medical does too, although they don't list it on their website).

My DD is just barely 5 feet tall and weighs about 82 pounds. Her custom wheelchair has a 14 inch wide seat, so based on that, I think 16 would work best for you.
