We're planning a trip to BCV and OKW (both 2 Bed) and our DD will be 15 months when we go. Do we need to use any electrical outlet protectors and, if so, can anyone tell me how many I should bring!?!

If you are really certain that you want to bring some then buy a bunch, but...on our last trip in December, my DS was 16 mos and we had no problem with him even going near the outlets. I honestly didn't pay any attention to see how many outlets were actually out in the open. Since these rooms are very specific in design, it is possible that many of the outlets are hidden either by a couch or end table or night stand, etc.

It's just a personal preference, and if you feel better doing it then by all means do it.

One thing I will recommend to you is to make certain that you relocate the coffee table that contains the Pack n' Play at BCV (don't know if OKW has this). The table is right out in the middle of the living room area and can very easily be run into by an overzealous toddler. It is very easy to move.

Enjoy your trip, and maybe someone else can shed more light on the outlets situation for you.

Well, if your significant other can't stop himself from jabing metal things into the power outlets, I'm not sure a little piece of plastic will help. :cool2:

Well, I assume by power outlet protectors you mean something plastic that would protect children from sticking things in the outlets and keep adults from being able to pull them out to plug things into the outlets. If so, and if it means you will sleep better, do it. Otherwise, thousands of kids seem to have made it through WDW stays without doing themselves electrical harm.

Just a thought...do they sell international power-outlet protectors? If you don't have ones for the standard us plugs (two parallel prongs and a ground prong underneath) you'll probably need to pick some up in the states.

Hope this helps,
Joe

Yes, I did mean the plastic ones you use to stop small children jabbing their fingers in - but I'll still keep a close eye on DH! :p

I doubt whether it will be a problem, but I thought I might just take a few along anyway - they don't take up much room. My brother is visiting the US this summer so I'll ask him to get me some while he's over there.

Thanks both for your help - and the warning about the coffee table, Brian

OKW has a coffee table but it is very stable, not in any way used for any thing else, not sure what Pac and Play has to do with the coffee table, at OKW they are kept in the closet that has the safe.

We always just bring one package and it seems to be enough for a 2 bedroom.

I have always wondered if housekeepking removes them all when we check out or leaves them?

As far as I can gather the Pack and Play is kept in the closet at OKW and the coffee table at BCV. I think that DemoBri1 was just advising me to move the table at BCV because, ahem, there is slightly less floor space for a toddler to play on, and that I'd know which table he meant because it would have the Pack and Play in it!! I think! ;)

Thanks kdonnel - wouldn't want my brother to shell out $$$ on more covers than I need. :D

I always took a package of plug covers with me when my boys were in the crawling/exploring stages! It certainly won't do any harm and they only cost a couple of $$ for a package. Putting your mind at ease over something like electrical sockets is definitely worth it.
