Does anyone know how the expiration on a rider swap pass works? Is there a date and time you need to return before. I am thinking about SM, going 1st thing, letting my DD7 & DH ride and get a swap pass but I would like the then head to FantasyLand. Can I retrun later inthe day on that pass like after lunch or dinner?
If anyone knows, I appreciate it. ;)

The pass usually says you have all day to return and it has the date.

Once I got one at RnR that was good for 3 days!!

The ones I got last year at Splash Mtn had no expiration on them. I found one in my Disney wallet the other day when I was starting to get it ready for my June trip!! It said no expiration on the bottom of it. :thumbsup2

Dumb question of the day to follow....

What is a child rider swap pass?

You can swap at rides where your child doesn't meet the height requirements. You ask the CM at the ride and they will give you ONE child swap pass that you can use in the Fastpass line. Its good for up to 3 people up to 3 days.

They will ask to see the child in question to prevent abuse of the system. If the child is tall enough to ride, they will require you all to go in line together and swap at the ride itself. YMMV.

Thanks so basically it is baby swap with a twist....when we used it there was no pass to come back and use the fast pass line.

Exactly! I remember those days as well! We always swapped at the ride itself but with Fastpass, they now have this new way.

In early April we used "rider switch" passes since my 2yo neice was with us. They were all valid for up to three people, no time restriction and they all had expiration dates printed on the bottom of the pass. Most were 1-2 days later but both EE and Soarin were same day only.

They were very strict about the dates, up to three people and having the entire party approach the queue to use rider switch to verify you had a child who didn't meet the restriction.

At Soarin lots of folks were complaining because the baby/toddler was in the stroller outside and strollers were not allowed in the pavilllion. Something to be aware of because the CM's were enforcing that requirement (rightly so IMHO).

ITA!! There has certainly been abuse of this perk so I'm very very glad when the CMs make sure you have a child that doesn't meet the height requirement. :cheer2:

You know I thought that depending on the ride, the expiration date was different so I'm glad that you confirmed that I'm not imagining things!!

Yes, unfortuantely we saw many people who may or may not have had a baby/toddler trying to get the pass without the "entire party together"! There was a group of teens who asked for a baby swap over and over (didn't get it that I know of). We ran into them quite a bit during our MK day and believe me there was no baby.

I also saw many people with toddlers and babies who mistakenly thought they could ride without waiting in line at all because they had a baby :(

It's a great feature that keeps a family from waiting double on rides with restrictions. I just hope it dosen't get taken away due to abuse or the cost and hassle of enforcing the guidelines.
