Does anyone know how they work out Child prices on Virgin. Im doing some what ifs on the Virgin Website and the prices dont make sense.

If the adult price is 449 (depending on dates) the child price is 317 (2 yr old) but if the adult price is 549 the child price is 279.

I always assumed that the child price would be a percentage of the adult price but this seems to be the other way around.

Please help a confused person

As most hotel rooms in the US are for the room, not the number of guests the childs price will reflect totally the change in airfare costs. The adult price is a combination of airfare AND hotel charges. So I can see how it's possible for the adult price to go up and the child's price fall when there are fewer travellers from the UK (pushing the price of the airfare down) but it is the busiest time for US visitors ( spring break for example) pushing up room rates. That may not be the case, but it seems a logical possibility.

PS, can't a 2 yr old travel on an adults lap for nothing? Or you (understandably) want a seat for them?

Thanks for the info and yes that would make sense, but I am only trying to book a fly drive, no accomodation (im doing that through dreams unlimited). I suspect its simply a way of offering lower adult fare to get the business knowing that they will make it back on the Children that will betravelling to Disney.

yes we want a seat for him as the thought of Thomas on our laps for 9 hours isnt something I want to contemplate !!
