Child passport renewal - birth certificate required?

As per the title, I can't remember from DD's last renewal but renewing a child's passport, do you have to submit their birth certificate again? Or was it only their first passport that called for it? DD's is due to be renewed in a couple of months and I've lost her birth certificate. I don't want to order a replacement if I don't need one

Its not required for a renewal.

I am renewing a child passport. What
supporting documents do I need to send?

Please send the child’s current passport and two
photos. You will not normally need to provide
extra supporting documents unless there is a
court order which applies to the child. Please
send us any court orders for the child that
relate to parental responsibility, residence,
contact or taking the child outside the UK

Oh brilliant! Thanks Wayne! If I can avoid having to get a copy of the Birth Cert I will. I dont' see the point when they have proper photo ID

I dont' think I have ever been asked for my birth certificate for any reason since I left home over 20 years ago lol

She will need her birth certificate if she gets married, I believe.

Yes, I think you're right. Fortunately with her having just turned 11, I should have some time before I need one for her for that purpose
