Child or Adult DDP?

My question is my friend's son is 9 but he turns 10 before our trip. Do I call and say he'll be 10 before the trip? I ask because he's autistic and eats very limited foods. The child's dining plan would work better for him but I don't want to break rules. I'm not sure if I read that you give the child's age at the time of booking or at the time of the trip.

It is the age at the start of the trip. What you may be thinking of is the fact that children "don't age" age at WDW - so, if his 10th birthday was DURING the trip, he'd be considered a child; since his birthday is BEFORE the trip, he is an adult.

They have his birthdate, don't they? So the system probably knows that he is an adult already. Unless you wiling to break the rules for both the DDP and park tickets, he'll have to go as a WDW adult.

I believe you need to give the age of the child at the time of the trip. So, he would be considered an adult on the DDP.

No, we did not have to give his birth date.
We're staying at BWV on points. I don't want to break any rules.
