Do you have to put in birthday information for a child under two when booking an airplane flight or reserving a hotel at Disney?

Thanks!

Your airline may ask for proof! Maybe bring a copy of the birth certificate. So far, I’ve never experienced Disney asking.

Disney asks for age but not sure I’ve encountered DOB. This is mainly because under a certain age they’re free and past a certain age they’re considered adults.

We’ve flown with my son maybe 50 times and no one has ever asked for a birth certificate, but you will need to enter DOB when booking the flight. At security TSA will typically ask him his name and age.

Unfortunately after 18 years of staying in our room for no additional charge above avertised room rate our children are now considered extra guests and an additional charge will be applied to the room for each of my children that are over 18.:confused3

Hotel no - just under two is fine, airline Travel IME yes.

SWA will ask for proof of age in order for a child under two to fly free, the website has details on the age verification and how to obtain the boarding pass for an "un ticketed passenger".

Other airlines are hit or miss some ask all the time some ask randomly but I would carry the Childs birth certificate if you are taking advantage of the free flight for passengers under 2.

Yes! As I said (and you quoted) some airlines are stricter than others - SWA always asks even if its obvious that the child is under 2 other airlines are hit or miss. The FAA fine for not ticketing a child over 2 is fairly large so I am not sure why more airlines don't ask for proof of age.

Thanks for the replies. My friend at the airport (my husband reminded me I know someone who works at the airport. lol.) said that they ask for birthday for children under 2 for booking purposes but don't save the information unless you decide to pay for a seat. Pretty sure I don't want to hold the kid the whole time so we'll just pay for the seat and give them the info. I haven't heard of any huge data breaches lately... Either companies are getting better at security or they just stopped telling us.

Starting to get excited!!!!!
