Do they offer child care in the campground?? MY hubby and I would love to go for a nice dinner while the kids are in as they call it, "day care"!! I know some hotels offer it, but hoping not to leave the campground. Thanks for this site!!

I don't think so.

Wilderness Lodge is a short bus ride away and I think they have a kids club. You might take a short bus ride as a family from FTW to WL, drop them off, have a quiet dinner at WL (just the two grown-ups) then pick them up. The restaurants at WL are, IMO, better for an intimate grown-up dinner than those at FTW. (I love the Trail's End though!).

You might call WL and see if they send people to baby sit at FTW; otherwise this might work for you. I think the kids need to be old enough to be potty-trained at Disney's kids clubs but I don't know what the top end age is.

Yeah, even on vacation Mom and Dad need a little "space" from the kids! ;)

We've used the service called "Kids Nite Out" before from FW. Although they are very good and I'd recommend them, my daughter prefers to go to the WL Cub's Den any day of the week. Even better is the kids place at the Poly. It really depends on when you'll be out and how easy it is to get back to. One thing to be aware of is the closing time for the kids clubs ..... midnight. Any later and they start charging something like $10/5 minutes.

Are the Disney 'in room' babysitters available for Ft. Wilderness, and are they allowed to be in personal campers (not the Disney cabins)? Anyone have experience with this?

The off-site babysitting services do come right to your RV. We leave our golf cart keys with the sitter as well as the RV keys, and let her explore FW with our daughter. It has always worked out well. The only problem is that the sitters aren't familiar with FW and how to get around and it takes them longer than they ever anticipate to reach your campsite.

As for the resort kids clubs, the ages they accept are "potty trained" (roughly 2-3) to 12.

I am thinking of doing a dinner at one of the Worlds in Epcot. Both my kids are potty-trained, so that isn't a problem. I will have to check out WL, as well as the kids club. Any more info is GREATLY appreciated! First trip camping in WDW, but we are seasoned campers!!

We've used the Cub's Den at the Lodge a couple of times now. Lauren really likes it--actually she prefers it to the parks on Friday evenings after school. Kids have to be 4 years old (and they are very strict about this) and toilet-trained. They play and do crafts and get dinner, and a snack when they leave.

I would recommend using your own car if you can, though. The first time we dropped her off we waited for over 30 minutes for a bus to the MK and I could hear that clock ticking......

How would 3 years, 9 months??? Maybe I could brainwash my daughter into thinking she is four........

Our DD was 3.5 last march and they let her stay. She was potty trained but we had her in a pull up just in case she had an accident. We had no problems and we had a real fun night out. caught the boat to MK then to GF for dinner.
