Child care at Portofino Bay

Hi everyone!

Does anyone have experience or more information than the general site in regards to the child care at Portofino Bay? My husband is taking our three older kids to Halloween Horror, and I would really like to accompany them, but we have a 3 year old. We are particular about who cares for her when we aren't present, and my husband is especially nervous about leaving her at a resort child care. Personally, I think she'd have fun. Thoughts?

Hi, I can't answer specifically about PBH, but we just got back from RPR, and we put our son (7 yrs) in their program one evening, and then he begged us to go back there every night after that. They played games, did arts and crafts,etc. He liked it better when there were more children than less, but went probably 3-4 times total while we were there, sometimes for just an hour, sometimes for a couple of hours. It gets expensive, though, at
$15/hour. Hope this was helpful.

I think the on-site hotels use a company called "kids nite out". They run the kids clubs at the hotels and will also do in room sitting. We used them for HHN and they were fantastic.

you won't be able to use the on site children's club as your child is under 4.

When Mom and Dad want to enjoy a night on the town, you can drop the kids off at the Campo Portofino® supervised children’s activity center.

Kids will enjoy play mats, an arts & crafts table, storybook corner, computer desks, a movie room, and more.

Counselors are trained to supervise toilet-trained children ages 4-14 only. One counselor for every 8-10 children.

COST: $15 per hour, per child / $15 per meal

HOURS: Open from 5:00 pm to 11:30 pm, Sunday through Thursday and from 5:00 pm to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. *Times are subject to change.

I have no experience with onsite childcare but we are also very particular about childcare as my youngest DD is high-functioning autistic and has several food allergies. We have used Fairy Godmothers in-room babysitting service. They were great! I explained my special needs and they sent a grandma who used to be a teacher. The kids loved her as she brought games and such to play. I would definitely use them again.
