12/17/07 will be our 30th anniversary, we will be at SSR with our 6 yr old, live with us g'daughter. I'd like to to do Victoria & Albert's @ GF that night but don't want to spend big $ or several hours at a nice dinner with her.

So does Disney or DVC offer child care? In the evenings?

TIA,

There is a kids club right at Grand Floridian. You can register her and send her there. They have planned activities. I believe it is $6 or $8 an hour. I am not positive but I believe you sign them up in advance through Disney Dinning.

I don't know about Grand Floridian but when we were there at Christmas we wanted a nice dinner at Artist Point. Our kids, dd7, ds6 went to the Cub's Den. They had so much fun. I believe it was about $8 per hour but if you are there by a certain time they feed them dinner too.

My husband and I thought it was funny that the rest of the trip they kept asking to go back to the Cub's Den.

I just used Fair Godmothers this past December. The girl was really nice and took my son to the game room and then they had snacks, played and watched TV...

How late does the Cub's den stay open? Same? for the GF place. The Chef's Table dinner can run 4 hours.

FormrCastMbr, did you mean Fairy Godmothers? How do you contact them?

TIA,

When we went V & A in June we used the kids club at the GF. Our kids had a great time. If you can belive it the Poly has a better kids club. Last year DVC members got 10% off. Be sure to see if DVC members still get a discount. Have a great time. We did.

WE love fairy godmothers and use Marguriette ( spelling) .

How much does everyone tip? 2 kids 4 hours? Thanks

The Childcare at the GF is the smallest of all of them, I think. The price is now somewhere $12 / hour, but you get a 10% DVC discount.

The earliest you can check them in is 4 p.m. and can go til midnight I believe. They do stories, cookies / milk and movie around 10, so you can pick them up later (they fall asleep). If it's going to be a really late night, I bathe DD and send her in clean PJs....

Oh, and they feed them dinner (like Macaarroni, chicken nuggets, etc).

But it books up, so make your reservations now via 407-wdw-DINE, and there is a penalty if you cancel within 24 hours. But with a fancy event like V&A, you'll want the grown up / alone time...

Have Fun, Enjoy, and report back. We've never eaten at V&A. It's supposed to be outstanding.

I think they get paid pretty well at Fairy Godmothers but I believe we gave the girl $20 tip for sitting with my son for about 5 - 6 hours...that is because she went above and beyond. She took him to the game room at OKW and really spent time with him. he had a ball!
