Our DS will be 7 when we go out next year and although tall still needs a booster seat in this country.

What about in USA? and do people take theirs/hire or buy?

we are taking our booster seat with us. our DD5 will use it, for her age group it is recommended not essential.

I look at it this way. If my little 'uun needs a seat for his safety in the UK, then its no different in the USA

So, yes we will be taking the booster seat with us.

Yes, but if they are required for safety reasons in the UK why take the risk?

Booseters are designed to stop the child from slipping under the seat belt and crashing into the back of the seat or into the person in front.

Air bags are larger volume on US vehicles because its not a requirement that you wear your seat belt in some states, so the airbag has to be bigger to take the greater forward momentum of the body.

However, would you not wear a seat belt?

I had assumed that they had read the link in the second post regarding the law. the descision as you say is up to the OP, however that does not stop anyone giving their own personal opinion as to whether you should or should not take one?
