Chicken trouble . . .

Hay we got chickens and goats and roosters here in Miami . The farther south you go the more land and backyards get bigger.

So people raise chickens and roosters. My neighbor kept them and every day around sun up the dang rooster would crow. He actually lets them loose.



Watch were you step . What about he smell of poop

I had a thought this morning.....

Maybe if you set out a big pot of water, in the middle of the driveway, with a few onions and carrots and potatoes floating in it they might get nervous and move on..................

My rooster nightmare--When I was around 6 years old we lived in the country, and my Mom kept chickens. I was playing outside one day with a neighbor when the rooster started chasing us, well, he got me . Jumped or flew on my back and knocked me to the ground and pecked for all he was worth, of course I'm screaming but I've got grass and dirt in my mouth, at least the neighbor kid ran inside and told my Mom and she came running out with the broom which she started smacking him with, of course he is still attached to my clothes and I'm feeling part of those wacks too. She finally got him off, but not before he pecked off my smallpox scab! Remember, in the 60's you would get a scab with the inoculation? The last time I saw that rooster was as my Mom was getting me off the ground, I looked, huge ,
solid white rooster standing there with my scab in his beak.(lips?)

We had fried chicken the next day.

I also thought for years that it was a "chicken pox scab", told the kids in school thats why he pecked me, something to do with chickens.
