Do all attractions have chicken out exits? I'm not a roller coaster or drop ride type of person, so I've always just waited outside while DW and DS ride those rides. However, reading about the amazing queue of Tower of Terror, somebody mentioned exiting before getting on the ride vehicle. Do all rides have this? Are any of them 'hard' to exit (like a CM has to escort you or something)? If easy to do, I might just queue with them on our next trip.

Yes, all rides will allow you to exit before boarding. In some cases you may have to step through the ride vehicle (for those the load and unload in the same place but on opposite sides). Simply ask a CM and they will direct you.

IIRC the ToT exit was a slight pain because a cast member did have to escort me out and I think we might have even taken a regular elevator? It was a long time ago - I was pregnant but waited in the line for DH to ride and exited at the last chance. It wasn't that big of a deal to exit though. Most of the time the chicken exits are super easy. On roller coaster and boat type rides you literally walk through the ride vehicle and out the other side.

Splash mountain actually has a marked chicken exit so that one is easy. BTMRR you could just tell the CM at the loading area and climb across the coaster to the other side before your family boards (had to do this with my son this week). 7DMT the exit is right by the loading area (after going through the interactive que part) so that should be pretty easy too.

The only one I thought specifically of where the entrance/exit are different areas is space mountain-not sure if a CM would have to escort you from the loading area to the exit.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to use the Spalsh Mountain exit. In order to get my DS11 to ride RnRC, I've agreed to ride Splasho_O.

You do have to take an elevator for ToT as the load and unload are on different levels. The CMs should always be happy to escort anyone. This is a fairly common occurrence, especially at that ride.

OP, have no worries about it. You will always be allowed to exit. There's this sort of feeling that there is a point at which you are committed to riding, but Disney will absolutely not force anyone to board a ride vehicle. Now, once the restraints are locked, well, that's a different matter. Simply tell the CM at the load platform that you do not wish to ride. They will take care of you.

I took chicken exit on all coaster type rides after my back surgery. It wasn’t bad except I was annoyed I couldn’t ride. The cast members direct you where you need to go. It was very easy.

OH, HECK NO! DW rides everything with DS. RnRC is the only one he hasn't done since it goes upside down.

Funny RnRC story - when DD was 8, we had to talk her into every single ride. She is a chicken with the heart of a daredevil. Her first words after every ride except RnRC were, "Let's do that again!" After RnRC, she said, "You lied to me! That didn't go upside down!" She couldn't even tell that it had. To this day, she will only ride indoor coasters with an inversion - if she can see it, she won't do it.

DH has used the chicken exit for TOT. Not a big deal. He's done the cross over cars fro California Screamin' at Disney's CA Adventure too. I know that he did something for Rockin' Roller Coaster, but can;t recall what it was. Most likley was escorted by a CM at the loading zone.
