Hi im an alone french mum with 2 teens, travelling first time wdw next summer, I suffer too from motion sickness and wonder if every ride has one, how do youn ask this to a CM, do you have time to ask when lots of people queueing.? I just would be glad to queue with my children...TIA

When you get to loading you just tell them 2 to ride and 1 to exit. Very easy and not a problem.

My youngest is tall enough for space and everest but if we all queue and she decides not to do it can we still rider switch at the chicken exit so the rest of us all get a go?

Counting down to 14th May!

Depends on the child's age and the CM. Ask before exiting.

Just ask if you do chickin out, where the ride Exit is. Sometimes the ride end/Exit is not where you get on. To avoid having to find your Group again.

Thanks too, very kind of all of you to have such info for a newbie . I feel better with it now :))

I also sometimes suffer from motion sickness. I'd hate to see you miss out on rides with your kids. Have you considered taking a motion sickness medicine like Dramamine, ginger pills, or using ginger gum?

A lot of the queue lines are worth seeing even if you have no intention of riding, so the CM's will always accommodate the guests who don't end up on the ride itself. You can go all the way to the loading area and then simply let the cast members know you'd like to exit.

I suffer from horrid motion sickness and have managed to ride everything at least once for the experience, by a combination of sheer force of will, dramamine, essential oils and SeaBands. The rides that set me off the worst are Rock n' Rollercoaster, Tower of Terror, StarTours, Expedition Everest, the Mad Hatter's tea cups, and Mission:Space (even the green side, forget the orange!).

The best way to conquer these rides included riding them early (before I was overheated and tired) and on a relatively empty stomach.

Space Mountain has been a minor issue only if I'm already off.

Big Thunder has never bothered me.

I would encourage you to take the steps you know from past experience will help you. Stay well hydrated. And don't push yourself to get on it if you really think it might be a problem; feeling sick is not the way to enjoy the happiest place on earth!

good luck!

Thanks Immantini, indeed, I would prefer not taking more medicine as i am already having a treatment for blood pressure and migraines( hope its the good word for it), i have as well one against "drop down" but I donot want to be at risk, so If I can queue with my children it will be ok , i donot want to ruin our holiday of a lifetime in wdw,. In Paris, Dlp, I can do BTM but thats all, others coasters like tea cups make me too ill and have to end my day on a gurney. Queuing is ok for me, and sharing it with my children will be a real pleasure, I have never dare to do so in disneyland paris ;) and I was awaiting them outside, but too long, and no heat fortunately !!! Thanks to everyone for your kibd suggestions xxx

Thanks a lot '4ever figment', i agree, I pray for not being ill and enjoy our dream come true trip to wdw. Being there with my children is the most important, i donot mind too much not riding, xxx

The info is correct you have been receiving. Although when I had to use these "exits" when I was recovering from a one time thing, it was not a "chicken exit", it was an alternative exit. You aren't a "chicken", you just want to enjoy life as much as you can with the ones you love. You, in you life, just like things differently.

IMHO a CM should not say the phrase "chicken exit" in front of guests but a CM should know what the guest is talking about if the guest says it.

As im frenchie, perhaps I will call it the froggie exit :))), if ever ihave enough time yo talk to the CM and not too long a queue as i donot want to bother following guests !!! Thanks again to everyone for your kind help xxx isabelle

Really glad to see this thread and posts; I too cannot do the rides that the OP is referring too, but having heard about the theming, have really wanted to see inside the ride. I think in future, I will ask about doing this too. :)

Just wanted to assure everyone again- asking to use the "Before Loading Exit"(personally,I still ask for the "Chicken Exit"lol:)" is EXTREMELY common at WDW!:)

Guests do it all the time and CMs are VERY experienced with it.No big deal!:)

planning on using the "chicken exit" for the first time this september. I have ridden, and love, Mission Space. However, the last time I rode "orange" I had to sit down for a spell afterwards. We are taking a family with three tween/teen boys. I'll love to stand in line with them, but will "chicken out" at the end. Yes, I AM A CHicKEN now. haha! :cool2:

Congratulations !!! :))lol , Iam so happy to be able to queue with my teens this summer, its so sad I never did that in disneyland paris...

If you wait on line to mission space you can wait right up to when they are loading the riders on the ride. You can listen to all the fun stuff in the loading area. I know because we were taking my daughter first on the orange version (the more extreme) and then literally the last second when we were about to step foot in our simulator I chickened out for my daughter's sake. She wanted to go but it freaked me out the way they kept saying you can leave if you want and all the warnings.

We went back on line for the Green and she loved it (4 years old) she wanted to do the Orange. We went back I almost chickened out again, for her sake. She Loved it I felt sick to my stomach!! Do the GREEN if you are prone to stomach sickness! The Green is totally OK, the orange exerts some G force feelings on you that makes your stomach sink wayyyyy down. Like I said She had nooooooo problem. :dance3::worship:
