Hey Kevin, check out the Food Network tonight at 10pm.

Kim

No way! I never heard of chicken and waffles before the podcast. I'm gonna have to check it out. (it still sounds weird to me though)

Gotta do the 1am show though....Desperate Housewives is on at 10pm, can't miss that!!!!

Alton Brown has also done fried chicken and waffles before. It was on his last "Feasting on Asphalt" show and, I think, he's made it before on "Good Eats". I know he's mentioned it on the show before.

I don't do sweet and salty so that sounds like a horrific idea! :scared1: Why would you screw up two perfectly good foods?

Personally, I love sweet and salty. Chocolate covered pretzels, popcorn yum.

I will have to watch this tonight.

Never had them, but I think they sound just about yummy in my tummy. I think I may have to watch "Throw Down" tonight.

I lve chocolate covered pretzels and popcorn, but my favorite is chocolate covered potato chips!!! A friend made them for Christmas one year and I thought she had lost her mind, but they are awesome! YUM!!!!!

Ok so this is all new to me. Must admit never tried chicken and waffles. Experiencing new foods from other cultures is exciting for me, but looking at the description from the food channel web page not sure I am willing to try this:

Fried Chicken and Wild Rice Waffles with Pink Peppercorn Butter and Maple-Horseradish Syrup

There is just something fundamentally wrong with the words maple and horseradish with the word syrup.
:scared1:

There's a restaurant in Los Angeles called "Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles." I had the chance to eat several years ago when I visited L.A.

I have to admit that at first the combination did not sound appetizing to me either. However, the chicken and the waffles were outstanding!!! Some of the best I had ever had. And they tasted very good together.

I missed the "Throw Down" last night. Who did Bobby challenge? Who won?

Thanks

And pink butter? What the?

Ugh...DH and I watched it last night and I wouldn't have eaten either of their dishes!! Spoiler alert!! Bobby Flay lost that one.

This reminds me of one of my favorite Pete mini-rants, referring to Wolfgang Puck cafe:

Coming from New Jersey, I like my pizza, and I can simply say that there are just some things that should never be done to a pizza, and he's done all of them!
