Chicagoans...I didn't Inhale... At least I think I didn't??

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Democratic Rep. Rod Blagojevich, front-runner in the race for governor of Illinois, may have raised the bar when it comes to answering the "Have you used marijuana?" test that has become a staple of American politics.
The 45-year-old politician admitted on Monday he had tried the drug twice as a young man -- but he didn't know whether he had inhaled or not. He was sure, however, that he didn't have an attack of the munchies afterward.

"I don't know if I did or not. I never liked the smell of it ... I was so inept at it I don't know whether I did or didn't (inhale)," he said in response to the same question once put to former President Bill Clinton.

Clinton said he tried the drug but did not inhale. The question of drug use is often posed to political candidates.

Blagojevich added he had "vivid" recollections of both encounters in college with the weed and was sure he did not come down with the post-smoking snack attack that often accompanies marijuana use.

He has a substantial lead in polls over Republican Jim Ryan, the state's attorney general. A spokesman said Ryan had never used marijuana.

The time I tried it, I didn't know what I was doing either and it did nothing for me. "Useless" I said. Or something along those lines.

Same here!!! In fact I believe that I faked that I was having "marijuana symptoms"!!!!!

I don't get what the heck this matters anyway....to tell us he is or isn't a drug addict???? I could care less if he used or did not use marijuana in the past....I could care less if he had sex with anyone besides his wife...what I want to know is if he is going to stick to his promises and what he's going to do to get our state in better shape....

This goes for anyone actually - President, Senator, Rep, etc. I could care less about their personal lives..their personal lives are not going to make my life better or worse!!!!!

You know what I don't get?

What is the purpose of smoking pot if you don't inhale? If you don't inhale, you probably won't get high, so what's the point of smoking it and not inhaling?

For that reason alone, I didn't believe Clinton and I don't believe Blagojevich either (I never really liked him anyway!).

I guess in general I'd rather have someone who smoked weed than someone who made it his career to put people behind bars for murders they didn't commit and then never admitted that its possible his office was overzealous. The marijuana question has gotten to be a stupid one, IMHO.
