Chicago Trip -O'Hare airport

Hello

I am going to Chicago this Thursday for a convention. I am flying United. I was looking at their travel options and for $66 a person I can upgrade so that I get good seats, go thru both priority check in and a priority security line. Has anyone done this before? I am a nervous traveler so if they really get you thru faster I would be willing to pay. My flight out of O'hare is at 9AM on Monday morning so I am afraid it will be crowded.

Any suggestions for about 1 free day in Chicago? I went to the Navy Pier once, was thinking of going back and taking a water tour. But, I also see there is a Blues festival downtown so I am unsure how difficult it will be to get around.

I would also take restaruant recommendations! We are more the casual style, I want to try the real Chicago pizza. We will be staying at the Marriott O'hare.

I'm not what you call a frequent traveler out of O'Hare, I tend to only fly about 2x a year. But I always fly UA so I'm familar with the security line. The TSA folk there are always efficiant and always keep the lines moving. I've never had an overly long wait going through security regardless of day/time I go through. If your sole concern is the time it takes to clear the security line, I'd say the cost isn't worth it. But the better seat on the flight may make it worth the money to you, that's something only you can decide!

As for pizza, Lou Malnati's has good deep dish, I'm not sure if they have a location near the airport but you can check their website. www.loumalnatis.com

United has it's own terminal. You should be okay if you arrive an hour and a half before your flight time.

Thank you! I think I will get Economy plus so I get a decent seat but I will skip the extra to get the prefered security line.
