Has anyone used Midway Park Saver parking or any other off site parking around the Midway Airport area? Was it a good experience and would you recommend it? We are considering doing this vs. taking a taxi minivan back and forth, our car would be there and the cost would come out to be a little less. Any thoughts and opinions are appreciated!

My family always uses ParkrideflyUSA.com. The have outdoor and indoor parking about 1 or 2 miles from the airport. Each time that I have used them the shuttle follows me to where I park my car. When you return to Midway you call them before you get your luggage and they dispatch a shuttle to come get you. Most times shuttles are already waiting outside. I think they have a special on their site - 10% off 3 days or more.

Hope this helps! :)

We just did this last weekend. There is a lot for $8.75 but we got there late and its further away than the other lots, so we ended up parking in a lot for $14 a day. We were able to park in a parking garage, so the car was protected. The parking at our hotel was supposed to be $42 a night! So we did end up saving quite a bit. The airport shuttle picked us up, dropped us at the airport, and then we made our way to the Orange Line into the city. It was quite a bit more time consuming, and kind of annoying walking all over with our bags, but to us it was worth the extra savings.

The problem with that lot (haven't used it - just have witnessed this and other people warned me) is that it's directly across from the Orange line stop. Have you ever taken the orange line into Midway? You come out way in the middle of nowhere and then walk across - covered, but not inside - moving walkways and hallways FOREVER until you finally get to the actual terminal. It's a viable option, but I definitely wouldn't do it if you had a lot of luggage or if it was winter. And I don't remember any sort of safe street crossing situation right there where they want you to run across the street to the terminal from the parking lot.

Personally, if I have to park at Midway, I just use the new economy garage. Covered, $14/day, and a shuttle. Good enough for me.

We have used park.fly, ride several times from Midway. We LOVE it!!!!! They follow you to your car, help with the bags(tip please) and drop you off at your airline. They are quick to pick up on the way back also.

NO more searching for a parking spot, dragging all the bags across the lot to the bus stop, waiting for the bus, yada, yada. Trying to find the right bus when you need to get back to your lot, dragging the bags back to your car in the dark, trying to remember where the heck you parked the car....

We use Park.Fly,Ride all the time wether its Midway or Detroit! And the one time we left the interior light on and the battory was dead I called the number on my pickup reciept and they came out quickly with an auto jumper. That earned them my business for life, no need to call AAA and wait.
