Also if we save our movie tickets, we can get 100 movie reward points for each ticket for anyone saving up movie reward points.
Had a great afternoon. Took the kids to the park and Tiggs. He is a pooped pup now!!!:rotfl: The sun came out beautifully and it was about 68 degrees. I hope all the fresh air helps puppy sleep tonight since I have to get up at 5am tomorrow for work.
Survivor night  Not sure if Grays will be a repeat tonight or not. TV Guide said it was new but the description is of last weeks show. Last week was supposed to be a repeat and wasn't:confused3
Ordered out pizza from Aurelios tonight. Too lazy to cook. All that fresh air wore me out, too.:lmao:

Yeah and where did I read that if you keep your movie ticket stub and it's from this weekend, you get a discount at The Disney Store for MTR merchandise! Yeehaw!!

Alex went to see Body works at the Science and Industry museum today. I don't think I have a budding Doctor on my hands :rotfl2: My friends said he couldn't get out of there fast enough:scared1: I should think of something squishy for dinner ;)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: That would be my kids. I wouldn't even consider taking them. I'm not even sure *I* could handle it.

I survived the Field Museum today. The Dinosaur exhibit that officially opens tomorrow was open today. :thumbsup2 I'm really, really glad we went today though as I was re-looking at everything, tomorrow night is Dozin with the Dinos! That place is going to be a madhouse. :scared1:

We managed to not get lost going to the museum (although do you really need to pull the rope for the bus to stop on a scheduled stop?) I was perplexed. I was talking to some other passangers that wanted to go to the Planitarium. As we were talking, another person told me we needed to pull the rope and let them know this is where we want to stop. We weren't quite up to the bus stop location yet. I had assumed they would stop at that bus stop automatically since it was a scheduled stop. :confused3
I got a little mixed up on the where to get to the stops (both coming & going) but we got there. I don't know what it is about Chicago but I get *so* turned around there. You would think it wouldn't be that difficult but I get so disoriented (must be all those 1 way streets!).

The only silly thing is that on the internet site it said to pick up our tickets at Will Call at the East entrance, so we walk ALL the way around the building to the East entrance, only to be told to go up the elevator & to the main entrance. That was just way out of our way.

I thought the Dinosaur exhibit was nice. We bought the audio tour to go with it & was glad we did. I found it made it more enjoyable (at least for me).

DS was very happy though and he got lots of goodies because I was trying to make it somewhat an equivelent to when I took DD to the American Girl Store -- the admission to the museum was not even close to doing "A day at" package we did. He was just beyond himself because our normal routine is that they are allowed 1 souvenior & that's it. He still did very good but you could see his expression when I was basically letting him get the items he wanted. It was a "really?????" The only thing is there was an egg thing with a dinosaur he wanted, we were going to go back for after we were done & we both forgot. He remembered when we were already at the train station to go home. Oops! We even got the 4 mold-a-ramas! The only downside is we had McDonald's for lunch *blah* but that is what he wanted so that is what we had.

Now I have to feed him & the others supper even though it's already 7 pm.

I just wanted to relax for a minute before doing so.

HI everyone!!! :wave2:

Super busy day for me again! Ready to drop dead!!! :faint:
I was out in Naperville most of the day, so of course I stopped at Fox Valley mall and shopped!!! :rotfl:

My younger sister had a baby girl yesterday. (Not sure if I mentioned she was pregnant!)
Her name is Isabelle and we are hopefully going to see her this weekend.
DH had to work late again yesterday so I couldn't go see her as they don't let kids on the maternity floor.
I bought lots of cute outfits for her including one that says Bella (Italian for beautiful) on it, I'm guessing that is what her nickname will be.

Hi to all!!!

Gotta run and get dinner started as I have a 2 hour meeting to get to later tonight!!!
I swear I'm gonna drop dead before I leave for vacation!!!! ;)

Congratulations on your new niece!! :cutie: What a beautiful name.

According to this Click here and look at the bottom of the page at the last rectangle!, it says get a free kaleidoscope and check out all the 'Meet the Robinsons' merchandise the Disney Store will have.

Bunchkin Congrats on being an auntie again. Isabelle is a beautiful name.

Thanks!!!

I wouldn't have done well with the Body Works exhibit either. :scared:

Congratulations on your new niece!! :cutie: What a beautiful name.

Thanks you! Actually, it's one of my names that I picked out for my DD when we were trying to come up with a name we liked!!!! 10 yrs ago!!!! :rotfl:
And her son's name is a name I had picked out for my DS!!!!!
I should charge her a finders fee!!! :rotfl2:

becky i am so glad to hear the exhibit was opened today.
i was wondering if it would all work out for you.

isn't that a kewl place !!

bunchkin, congrats on being an auntie.
no don't remember you saying your sis was pregnant. but with my memory, what can you expect.....
but now you announced she had a little, we can assume she was.

what a beautiful name, i really like it.

You all know - I love Fridays!!!!! :woohoo:

Thanks everyone for your kind words about me turning in my tape measure at my job:grouphug: . I appreciate it, because it was hard to do - it's a massive chunck of my life that is coming to an end:guilty: . But, I have another ambition that I'm working towards now, so I'm going to focus on that :thumbsup2

geffric - I hope the pressure at work gets better soon :wizard:

Rose - The American Eagle was always one of my favorites. I have the most vivid memory of my dad and I riding it the year it opened. I don't remember boys getting hurt on it, but I do remember when people got killed/hurt (I don't remember which) on the Edge.

Mac - I could do framing in the house. I had a friend that did that for awhile.

Debbie - I work/worked at a custom picture framing store for the last 19 years. I quit the other morning, and my last day will be April 12th.

Tiggerrnn - How did the shoe tieing lesson go? That is so hard to teach - it took Steph forever to catch on. She still has a hard time with it. She can tie the shoe, but she can't do it tightly, so it comes undone about 10 minutes after she ties it

Sam - I got that same info from Chase Visa. I'm going to answer those questions Saturday night:thumbsup2

Bunchkin - Congrats to your sister, and your whole family on the new bundle of joy princess: Isabelle is such a wonderful name, but I'm already partial towards it, because my neighbors DD's name is Isabelle, and I just love that little baby princess: You'll have to keep us posted on how she is doing.

HERSEY - So....what was your squishy dinner? I laughed when I read that :rotfl:

Becky - I"m glad you had a nice day at the museum. I love museums!!!:)

mvazul - :wave2:

Well, I gotta run and jump in the shower
My mom, the girls, and I are going to the mall to see The Easter Bunny this morning - they are very very excited!!!!

Have a good day today!!!

Hi to all and happy Friday! Is it supposed to be nice this weekend?? I hope so!

SLO...I know what you mean about feeling like a chunk of your life is over when you leave a job you have had for a long time. But, I also know you have great hope for the new chapter in your life that is just beginning, and wish you all the best.

GEFFRIC...did you apply for that job at the Disney place in Woodfield? I was thinking it would be an amazing opportunity for you, because you own DVC already, and you could be an excellent spokesperson for them!

ROSE...I honestly didn't ever go to Great America in the days you were posting about...so no trip down memory lane for me! I haven't even gone that often since it was GA, a few times with the kids (I am so not a roller-coaster person, I suppose that is why I love Disney World so much, I just do all the Disney-cute stuff!)

BUNCHKIN...Congratulations on the new little bundle of joy in your extended family!!! I hope you will be able to share some pictures with all of us soon.

LEIGH...Are you moving in to your new place soon? Is it this weekend?

HERSEY...Yes, driving in the fog was very, very scary. I am so glad Mark was driving, honestly, if it was just me, I would have turned around!

MAC...so what do you think about the IDOL that got ousted? I liked his personality, but he was never my fav singer. I still like Blake for the guys, and Jordin for the girls. I kind of like Melinda, too, but I think she can go far w/o the help of American Idol.

DEBBIE...do you have a trip planned coming up soon? I love seeing your pictures when you go to Disney!

JEDI...how are things going?

KIM...how are you??

CARRIE...AMY....check in soon! We miss you!!!!

ALL OTHER CHICAGO AREA FRIENDS...Hello!!!! And have a great day today!!! :cool1:

Good Friday Morning Everyone!!!

Is it too early to call it a day already and go back to bed??? :lmao: :rotfl:

Too much to do today, as usual.
Brownie meeting tonight too.

slo I know you made the right decision in quitting your job!! :)
Tell the Easter Bunny we said "HI!!". I don't think we'll be getting to the mall to see him....we're just too busy!!
Loved the Peter Cottontail pic!! Love that movie!! We have it on video and Hunter watched it in the van one day while we were out.....it was right after Christmas!!!! :rotfl: I can only wonder what people might have been saying who were driving behind us! :lmao:

Donna Thanks for the congrats!! :)
But I don't think I'll be sharing the baby's pics, I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that since she's not my child. Sorry.

Ok, I'm looking for volunteers to help me get ready for vacation!!!
I need a personal assistant!!!! :rotfl2:

Good morning, everyone!! It's Friday!!! :woohoo: :dance3: :yay:

We have tickets to see the Blackhawks tonight. DH got them for FREE!!!! He received an e-mail earlier in the week saying he could buy two and get two free. He logged in to buy them and found out he could get two free without buying any others. He only had to pay the $6 service fee. So, the kids are staying home tonight and we will be going to a game!! :woohoo: They are really good seats, too - just 19 rows off the ice.

Tomorrow will be a busy day. I need to find a dress for me for Easter, get a shirt and tie for DS and still need to start on the kids' Easter baskets. Plus, I still need to find a few odds and ends for my family's basket for next weekend.

DH and I have an appointment on Monday to look at an apartment. I have seen pictures of the inside and it looks really nice. The best part is it's in our price range, has laundry right in the apartment and has parking. Plus, it's still close enough to the kids' school and where I work. I'm really hoping this works out. I need to move!!!! :crowded:

Anyway....nothing else new here. Have a great day!! :flower1:

Becky2005 & HERSEY.....

I'm glad everyone had a good time at the museums. We bought family passes to both the S&I and The Field. We have tickets next Thursday night for the Field's new exhibits. I guess it's a member's only night? :confused3 Hopefully it won't be too crowded.

I wanted to see Body Works at the S&I, but DH didn't want to. I find it absolutely fascinating. Maybe that's the old nursing student in me coming out! ;) But, now that we have a family pass, we can go back whenever we want. Maybe I'll take the kids the Monday after Easter to see it. I would like to see the OmniMax movie that goes with it, too.

Have a great one!! :upsidedow

Cool!!! I know they do special "Members Only" versions of new exhibits at S&I, so I'm thinking the Field will be the same way. It will be really nice if it's anything like the one we went to in the past, even with lots of members there, it still feels like you have the place to yourself. KWIM? The last time we did that was when the Titanic was there.

The dinorama in the exhibit is really neat. I also liked the computer screen they had where it does an overlay from bone to skin a dinosaur. :thumbsup2 I don't know if you can do audio tour with the members only thing but DS & I really liked having the audio tour. I suppose I could have read all the signs at the exhibits and it would have done the same thing but I know DS too well & it was better to have oral stuff. There are a few videos in there that we didn't chose to sit and watch the entire thing of it. We spent about an hour or so in the exhibit.

Honestly, I really don't like the Field museum in general. It's just not my thing. However, DS likes the Dinosaurs and with the new exhibit it was perfect for him. Since DD doesn't like the Field either, it's not somewhere we would chose to go as a family.

Now S&I on the other hand, we all like. I'm planning on getting a membership soon. We will get the PhD one just because of us having a larger family & last time we did that we had relatives visiting but we ended up loving it. Free parking, free Omnimax tickets, etc... There are 2 exhibits coming up this year that we want to see CSI and the Star Wars one. DD really wants to see the CSI one and I think everyone will like the Star Wars one.

Have you gone to the Toymaker 3000 exhibit? I assume it's still there. :rotfl: Last time we were there, they had told us about it in the member only night since you got to talk to people who make up exhibits. The kids were so excited to see it, we went when it was supposed to be open but there was a delay in the opening & our membership expired before it actually opened. We never did get to it. I'm just wondering how it turned out? It sounded pretty neat. I know the idea was that you could make some choices to have a top made that you could purchase & you could watch it being made. I don't know if that is how it ended up in reality.

I don't remember seeing the Toymaker exhibit, but we didn't do the entire museum the day we were there. That sounds really cool, though.

We bought the higher end family pass at S&I, too. It only made sense since it included unlimited OmniMax and free parking. It was a total of $175 for the pass. It would have cost us about $100 just for that one visit. I find it definitely worth it.

DH likes the S&I the best of all the museums. I find it interesting, but I still like the Field better. I think we are going to do the Field next weekend when my family comes out. My mother is just itching to see the mummies. Plus, I think the S&I would just be too big for us to do in one day. However, I do think my grandfather would love the S&I. Maybe I can send DH, DS and DGF to the S&I and my Mom, DGM, DSis, DD and I could do the Field!! ;)

I am looking forward to the Star Wars exhibit, too. We were in town when the Field had it on display, but they also had the Russian family jewelry at the same time. We didn't want to pay for both exhibits and the Russian exhibit won out!!

I found the link to the Toymaker exhibit http://www.msichicago.org/exhibit/toymaker3000/index.html

You could easily split up with the memberships!! It would definitely be too hard to do more than 1 museum in 1 day. I never can do that. I always basically plan an entire day for 1 museum. I had to laugh though it was BECAUSE of the mummies that we skipped one exhibit. DS wanted nothing to do with it.

I know when we did the membership we were bringing my sister & her 2 kids along so it made more sense to get the larger membership with all the visitor passes and things you get. Then once we got it, we got spoiled by it. We haven't been back since they re-did the U-505 either. I did laugh because I always think of Member Express tickets like a Fast Pass (and people can be nasty too! We used it with the Coal Mine one time on an extremely crowded day & people were none too happy when they saw us going ahead.) It was good training, we did that before we went to Disney so my kids got that concept right away with Fast Pass. They loved it. They love the Member Express thing too. The only downside to that is you can't split up & everyone has to do the same express.
