enjoy the rest of your evening chgoland homies.

Hey everyone. Hope you all have a great weekend. Read all the posts.
Jedi, have a great trip. We really enjoyed DL when we went in 2005. Be sure to get over to CA for Soarin'. Great that you got a good deal!!!
Glad those sick folks are feeling better.
Sandy, to answer your question, no I did not get DS room done yesterday. I got a phone call from school to come pick up the sick boy instead. Had to take him to the Dr. office for throat culture and get him some antibiotics right away.
So very tired of strep throat this year. Planning to really stress tonsillectomy referral for this summer. Maybe next year I won't have to go through all this back to back strep stuff.
Well, I'm sleepy. Heading off to bed.
Becky, hope your DD play went well tonight.

What a nice sunny morning :sunny:
I loved waking up to sun - it always starts the day off right :sunny:

No to much going on here, in fact, I'm just staying home again until it's time to go to church. Which is fine, because Ms.Katie woke up with a little cold this morning. Kevin though, is taking Ms. Stephanie to Home Depot this morning, to do another activity. I'm not sure what they are making today (neither is he) but it doesn't matter because Stephanie loves to go!!!:goodvibes

So, what is everyone else doing this weekend????

Jedi - That's awesome about paying everything in cash :woohoo: Good for you!!!

Bunchkin - Happy B-day to your boyfriend :teeth:

Donna - I still think it was a tad harsh too ::yes:: But, I'm glad she did respond by email and phone, which was more than what I thought she would do.

HERSEY - Tell Alex that I said "good job!!!" You must be so proud of him Janice!!! :goodvibes

Debbie - :wave2:

Leigh - We loved the Palmer House :goodvibes (more than the Drake). Where you spending the night or just going to dinner?

macraven - :wave2:

Tiggerrnnn - I'm so sorry to hear about your poor DS:sick: I sure hope he feels better soon. Sending lots of get well PD his way :wizard: :wizard:

Well, that's about it from me for now
Have a good day today everyone!!!

There's no sun here. Just snow. Why do we have to have winter all in one month?

I'm not sure what we are doing. I don't think we are staying home though. I don't want to do house work ;)

Slo Yes I'm very proud of him.

Well got to get those dogs in. They keep wanting to go out to play in the snow. Maybe I can teach them to shovel or become sled dogs :lmao:

My sun :sunny: is now gone :guilty: and it is snowing again :cold:

Is it me.....or has this been a real wintery winter, more than I remember last year being :scratchin

All I know, is that I want to by some new capris so bad, but I hate to buy them, when I can't wear them - sorta takes the fun out of it:rolleyes: Plus, my flip-flops are calling my name - I hear them :listen: They want to get out of the dark areas of the closet and see the light of day again ;)

Good morning everyone!!
YES I am totally sick of winter too! I think I am one of those people like a lot of you who need the sun to thrive! :rotfl2: I think the problem is that the winter was milder in the beginning and now ending in full force. I think we would do better if it were the other way around. Also, I have to share with you guys some thoughts I had. I was grumbling about winter for like the billionth time when I looked up at the TV and saw that HS school that got demolished in that tornado in Alabama. I kind of stopped for a moment and thought WOW I am complaining about our weather! I know bad things can happen in Illinois too but rarely do we have to worry about hurricanes and earthquakes like people who live where it is hot or warm all the time seem to have do deal with. Yes, we deal with tornadoes and really bad stuff too on occasion but I guess it was my attempt at trying to put things in perspective. So I guess to make a long post shorter I have just been trying to tell myself to just deal with it and be thankful we aren't getting hit with catastrophic weather.
....and BELIEVE ME this is coming from the BIGGEST whiner you will ever meet. I just thought I would share my deep, reflective, personal moment anyway.
BTW.....I would still rather be in WDW right now!!!!

Jedi… Have a fabulous trip!!!

 I hope all of you with sick family members have a better today.

I read on another thread last night that DisneyMommyMichelle is pregnant with her third. Don’t you guys know her?

Leigh
what a cool evening. Hope it continued to be fun.
Slo..I am going to have to look into the HomeDepot classes by me. My DD4 might like that if she's old enough.

My DH does have to go in to Federal Jury Duty on Monday.:headache: Hopefully he goes in one day, gives his shpeal (as that how you spell that?) and gets dismissed. DH seems to think this was better then having to call in EVERY day for 2 weeks or so and wondering every day. If he's off of work for more than a couple days I am going to be REALLY mad! If DH is going to take off and not get paid I want it to be because we are on vacation!

:sad2: Sorry to go on and on today!!!!
:surfweb: Maybe my coffee will kick in and I'll lighten up!:rotfl:

Good Saturday Morning!!

I should be already out of the house today!! BUT.....as I told Hunter to go get dressed, which he has been doing all by himself lately, he informed me that he didn't have anymore pants/jeans left in his dresser!!!  So here we wait for the laundry to be done so we can head out for the day! :) Of course I let him know it would be best to let me know right away when he is on his last pair of pants!! :rotfl:
So the kids are loving hanging out in their pj's a little loner this morning.

We are going shopping for spring/summer clothes.
And a little while ago I ordered new Disney Crocs for the kids and a new Crocs Rx pair for me that help people with heal spurs and in general foot problems.

DH and I bought new Disney Crocs at WDW during our Jan trip. I couldn't believe he actually wanted them!! When I questioned him he said that he had worn my pair to the pool during our Sept/Oct trip and that they were super comfortable. Shock!!! :scared1: ;) :rotfl:
I have a month till warm weather vacation time, so I need to get shopping!!

slo Let us know what Stephanie makes at HD today! :)

Debbie I agree that we should be thankful for our winter weather and that we are not having to deal with such tragedy as those who were in the path of the tornados.

jedi I hope you're packing today and NOT working!! :cool1:

Hi to everyone else!! :wave2:

Time to head to the mall and battle all the brats that are dropped off there!!!

I survived the first play of DD's....I have to go again tonight.

Unfortunately, last night I was sitting near the band and have no idea what 1/2 the kids were saying/singing. :lmao: Good thing I know the Aladdin story.

The funniest thing is, it was a girl Genie and she did the fold arms & blink for the wishes. What I laughed about is she was more of the I Dream of Jeannie - type but I bet most of the kids in the play had no idea that came from I Dream of Jeannie. She wasn't blue or anything like that. :lmao:

We had the whole gang there so no pictures or anything. Tonight I'm bringing the video camera & digital camera so we shall see if I can get any good shots.

It was a cute play though.

Bunchkin, have fun at the mall. Let us know if there are any great deals to be had.
Slo, thanks for the well wishes for DS. Those antibiotics work fast!!! He was running about yesterday afternoon. My mom came to stay with him yesterday since I had to work. They played games all day. He beat her at Disney Sorry! Disney, Guess Who?, and Trouble. I asked her if she let him win.:rotfl: Then they baked brownies. Guess he could've been at school, but I like to give them 24 hours from the fever before they go back.
DD had a girl get sick in her class last week. I asked her if she went home and she said no. The girl went to the nurse's office for a little bit, but her mom was at work, so she couldn't go home, so they sent her back to class for the rest of the day.:scared1: It's no wonder all our kids get sick!!!
Jedi, are you packing??? I am happy for you getting to leave this chilly weather and trade it in for some sun. A little green too. Bring that weather back with you, please!!!!
Debbie, yes we are lucky to not be hit by anything major. My DS is always afraid when he sees that stuff on TV and worries that it will happen here. I have to reassure him that hurricanes don't come to Chicago and that we usually get missed by the tornados. I think our towns sit in a valley here. The storms seem to go over the top of us a lot.:confused3
Doesn't your DH job make up the difference in pay from jury duty to his regular pay? Mine does. Cook County at least only has to serve 1 day. Will County has to serve all week, even if you aren't called you are required to come every day for a week unless they don't need you. And now you have to call the night before to see if you are needed in the morning, and if you aren't then you have to call in the morning to see if they need you for the afternoon. It's a pain. It makes it hard to go to work at all even if you aren't needed in the morning because you might have to leave before lunch. Luckily, since I had the kids, I have not needed to go. First it was because I was feeding them as infants, and now they don't send any. I guess they figure I am home as primary caregiver?:confused3 I won't complain.
Well, I better get moving. Dneices birthday party this afternoon. Need to wrap gifts. Have a great day everyone.

My DH is a tradesman so he is paid hourly so they won't make up the difference. Or at least that's what they have told my hubby. I was going to call his Union and ask but he thinks it's the $40.00 from the goverment and that's it.:headache:

hello chgoland homies..........still nippy here near the lake.

roseprincess, what ever happened to the end of the story with the rude condo sitter that insulted you and hubby over the kids? did she leave yet?
inquiring minds want to know......

based on past years, mid feb to early first week of march is when chgoland gets the greatest amount of snow. we were lucky last year. in tom skillings Q and A section in today's tribune addresses that. he lists years past of the greatest snow falls for that time period.

i'm going to the motherland in late september.
i'm trying to plan everything now including the dining. i read on another website that visa holders may get a deal that is coming out spring time/april maybe for the free dining. they said bookings for resorts are at another low again at this point. who knows, magic may happen for the 3rd year in a row.
i don't think i will jump for it if it is offered. i am gettingn the AAA discount on the room of $65 + tax nightly for a value in value season. if i switch, i have to go to a package and would lose my discount then. it would bring my costs up from $710 for 10 nights to over $1100. i don't think i would eat over $320 of food during that period. i'm guessing i will hold around $275 tops for my time period.

going to the chinese buffet in town for dinner tonight. haven't been there in almost a year. looking forward to it.

Hi gang!! :wave2:

I'm killing a couple of minutes here while waiting to go to church. We leave at 4:10pm, and that's not enough time to start anything, so, I guess I'll DIS;)

I took the girls to the library this afternoon - they love the library!!!! They both checked out so many books that I came home and wrote them all down so I wouldn't forget to return anything:rolleyes: Next time we go I may check out the new Stephen King book - Cell - and make sure I set time out of each day to read it.

Debbie - I agree our weather could be so much worse, but I still hate winter :cold:;)

Bunchkin - Stephanie made a butterfly catcher at HD today :butterfly
Right now it's naked wood, so I think I will buy some paints so she can make it real colorful before she hangs it up.
**I like your sign and thanks for the gravy training offer - I may take you up on that someday ::yes::

Becky - Have a nice 2nd nice at DD's play tonight:goodvibes

Tiggerrnnn - I"m so glad your DS is feeling better :)

macraven - Have a good dinner at China buffet tonight. Tonight is Kevin's night to cook dinner, and he is making homemade spagetti sauce w/ rotini and Italian sausage - sounds yummy to me :thumbsup2

Well, I guess I should go put on some fresh lipstick before I go :)
Oh.......Kevin got The Departed for us to watch tonight - I'll give you a review in the morning.

Later gaters and have a good night!!!

I haven't started packing yet :sad2: And I need to because I work tomorrow and I'm still a little "sniffly". My head hurts too!

But I did shop today! I couldn't help it. New York and Co. was 50% the whole store so I bought a suit, trench coat, socks, earrings, a necklace and 2 tops for only $95 after the sale and a coupon! :cool1: And I had a $100 G.C. from Christmas still, so it essentially cost me nothing!!! (even better!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I also went to Target and got some travel sized stuff. I really want to carry everything on, so I needed to get some "approved" size liquid stuffs.... Though thinking about it, I'm sure I'll buy stuff in DL so coming back, I'm sure I"ll have stuff to check in!

Ok, I gotta get to the basement, dig out my capri pants so I can pack!! :scared1:

Ok, so I never got to the mall yet!!! Can you believe it???? :rotfl:
The kids have been such slow pokes and real home bodies today. So we'll either go later tonight or tomorrow morning FOR SURE!!

slo I bet Steph's butterfly is cute!! And I'm sure she'll love painting it!!

jedi Get packin' woman!!! Before I come find you and zap your hiney in gear....you leave in 2 days!!!! zzzaaappppp

OK!! :worship:

:rotfl:

Hi,
I went to the mall and am back. I bought way too much at Gymboree last weekend and today I was pretty good. Just got DD her Easter dress at Carson's Goodwill sale.

Hey, question for you guys. After talking to my cousin about her WDW planning she left me confused. She insisted with me that there was a dining plan where you could get just ONE meal a day. I said she was wrong and that there is only one dining plan and that it includes the three meals. Am I wrong? I am never wrong when it comes to Disney. I need to know so I can set her straight!
OR I have to tell her she was right!
