Thanks jedi, DMM, and Disneymama!

Jedi- GA has 2 kids areas now, Camp Cartoon Network and the Warner Bros area. Can't remember the name of the Warner Bros area. Camp Cartoon Network area has kiddie rides, up to age 10 or 11 yr olds. They also have hte Cartoon Network(more like Boomerang channel now) characters- the Hanna Barberra show characters ie. George Jetson, Scooby Doo, Astro (Jetsons dog), and Fred Flintstone. I did take pics of my kids with all 4 of those characters, tho I just only put up George Jetson pic on my siggie. i had no clue they had the characters there at Camp Cartoon Network until we got there that day. I did have my handy dandy digital camera with to take the pics :thumbsup2 We did not see any Warner Bros characters there at GA that day. I'm sure they were there, we just didn't see them, I suppose.

COOL! That sounds like fun :goodvibes

My weekend plans - I'm going camping with my family. DH won't be there though - he's going to a sci-fi convention in Atlanta - he goes every Labor Day weekend. With the way I've been feeling lately, my Mom said there's no way she's leaving me behind. But she's right - I'd just sit around and mope. :p

Would you believe I've never been camping? I'm "more of an indoor girl" (to quote Jack Dawson in Titanic). :rotfl: I hope you have a great time, jedi!

Come to my house, never boring!! Always some kind of drama here. :lmao:

Oh, there's lots of drama here, too. I'm just ignoring it. :lmao:

Hi everyone!!! :wave2:

Gosh, can I just say how pumped up I am about going on vacation!!! :woohoo:
The bad news is there is something going on in my calendar almost every day until then!!! :faint: I can't believe what's on schedule for Sept. :sad2:
I will be soooo ready for vacay by then!!! ::yes::

On the subject of dinner:
I ordered pizzas and DH picked them up on the way home!!! :thumbsup2

My meeting tonight went well, but not long enough to get everything accomplished. So it's looks like I get to add one more thing to my already busy schedule...another meeting.

But we did have some yummy treat I put out for the meeting.
I had chips and a yummy salsa, popcorn for the kids, lemon biscotti and crunch bars!!

I got the recipe for the crunch bars from my DENTIST!!! :teeth:
Here it is, you HAVE to all make these!!! ::yes:: You will LOVE them!!!

Take a large baking sheet, line with foil and spray with non-stick baking spray.
Preheat over to 400.
Place 36 saltine crackers, salt side up, in rows on the pan (connecting side by side and up and down).
Melt one stick of butter in a pan with 1/2 cup of brown sugar. Bring to a soft boil for 4-5 minutes. Pour mixture evenly over crackers and spread if needed to distribute evenly.
Bake for 7 minutes.
Pour 1/2 a bag of chocolate chips over crackers and let set for 5-7 minutes.
Spread chocolate over crackers evenly with a spatula.
Let set till chocolate hardens. Break or cut into pieces.
This is so easy and sooooo yummy!!
I have given some to a dozen people so far and they have loved them!! :teeth:

The kids love camping, but we only go to campgrounds with real bathrooms and showers. We bring our fans, air mattress, and I even bring my white noise machine. I gotta drown out the noises from all that nature!

Bunchkin- I have had that and it is so good. The recipe I have calls it Christmas Crack. Boy, I know some oddly named recipes, don't I?

Weekend plans: my family and I will be at our town Labor Day festival. We are walking distance from it(about 1/2 mile from it). On Saturday morning, we will be doing the rides for free for 2 hrs- free for kids with disabilities and their immediate families. We have been doing this for a few yrs. Then on Sat. night, my family will be taking me out for my birthday dinner. I will be turning the BIG 40 on Saturday!! :scared1:  princess:
On Sunday, we will probably buy a b-day cake and bring it over to see my grandma at the nursing home and share some b-day cake with her. Sunday night, I have a friend set up so far to babysit my kids while dh and I go to one of hte free night concerts at the Fest. On Monday morning, ds is marching with his Cub Scout pack in the Labor Day parade at the Fest.
It's going to be a pretty crazy weekend

Rose- Happy Birthday! Sounds like you will have a fun weekend!

Yummy! I'll have to try this sometime. that's too cool, the recipe from your dentist :rotfl2:

i HATE camping!!! DH took me once (okay he insists it wasn't camping since we were in a cabin) but it was toooo rustic for me!!!! no AC!!! AUGHH!! then i had to PAY MONEY to use the shower!! AUGHH!!! it was just ridiculous!!!! no way!

jedi Have fun camping!!! I hope you have some fun and feel a little better

I used to camp as a kid. We had a 32' travel trailer and camped almost every weekend in the spring and summer.
I went to private school then and was soooo embarassed when my parents would come pick me up in the family van with the trailer behind it. It took up the whole parking lot almost. For a 6th-8th grade student this is so devastating!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl2: ;)

I don't know (look on their web page?), but that's my big plan for the weekend. I have to try to find a dress for the wedding at the end of the month. I'm planning on trying there first. I rarely need/wear dresses, so I hate to buy a new one, but I think the one I wore to the wedding last year will unfortunately not fit me this year. I haven't tried it on, but it's a cotton shift (Lily Pulitzer--I love Lily and I got it on sale. :thumbsup2 ) that has no stretch to it at all, so I'm not very optimistic. :sad2:

Hmmm, I might go out to the one in (near?) Geneva. Good idea, thanks! :thumbsup2

Michelle Here is where we go for vacations in the spring!!!
Big Cedar
Click on lodging, and then cabins and then click on virtual tour.
They are so nice!!! All the amenities an spoiled city girl can need!!! :thumbsup2

This is the nicest place. Celebrities stay there!!! ::yes::
They have the best restaurants, golf, the best kids club program, boating, fishing, swimming, mini golf, stables, hay rides, special programs through out the year for families to join in, and the best spa!!!!
We went there last Easter and the kids participated in tons of Easter activites and had a visit from the Easter Bunny himself to our room with an EAster basket for each child!!!!!!! :yay: So cool!!! :cool1:

You guys have to go there!!! I recommend it to everyone!!!

It is a 1/2hour south of Branson Missouri, so there are a lot of other entertainment things to do. But we've stayed at the resort for a whole week and NEVER left!!! SO much to do!!!
