Chew some Gum for more time...

I thought I would share a little trick that works for me. When I start to feel hungry but I know there's only a half hour until lunch, I'll chew a piece of gum. It helps buy me those 30 minutes. I know it doesn't seem like much time but it keeps me from eating extra calories right before lunch. I'll also chew a stick right before I leave work. This helps to keep me from stopping at the many fast food places that I pass on my way home.
 
I have been using this trick for years. I'd be embarrassed to admit how much gum I go through in one week... Let's just say I buy it at Costco! :rolleyes1 My favorite is Orbit Sweet Mint. :cloud9:
 
I like this trick too! I will be chewing gum a lot in the evening. I'm trying to break the "have something sweet rut at night" that I'm in. so the gum is good because it is sweet and yet not a candy bar!
 
Super good tip! I also use gum if I'm wanting to eat more (like after dinner), I'll chew gum for a while to see if I'm really hungry! Usually I don't need anything more!
 

Another gum chewer here, I think I buy a pack a week. I also keep sugar free mints in the car for those hunger emergencies.
