Chevy Trailblazer and Avalanche

We have a friend that just bought his second Avalanche. He loves it.

Thanks. :)

Anyone else?

We drove the Trailblazer last night and the steering seemed ultra-sensitive. Like to the point of being dangerous for us. Anyone else notice this?

Interesting, I just had a discussion with a friend today on those two cars. We both commented on how many there are and how we have yet to meet anyone who doesn't love their car (people who owned either a trailblazer or avalanche). My husband drives a trailblazer and I borrow every once and a while and have never had a problem with it. (and I drive a honda)

We have a 2004 Trailblazer EXT (7 passanger). I love it. Never noticed the steering being ultra-sensitive. One problem we have not encountered yet is the brakes. We know the salesman we purchased from and he said they do wear down the brakes quickly.

I'm on my 2nd Trailblazer and I really LOVE them. I have a 2004 now, but, had a 2002. I have the LS model, which is the cheapest one, but, it has been great so far. :sunny:

just bought my son a 2003 trailblazer, and we all love it. I actually like it better than my navigator.

My daughter and I just bought a 2002 or 2003(?) Trailblazer for her use. She loves it, and I think it's a good vehicle for her. I drive a pickup truck, and I love to drive her car!

Love, Love, Love my trailblazer. I have a 2004 I got last July and have not lost that warm fuzzy happy feeling yet! No brake problems and mine has almost 33,000 on it. I am on the road alot!

I am also on my 2nd Trailblazer. The first was a LTZ model...loaded with heated leather seats, moon roof and such. I now have a 2005 LS model. It is a downgrade from what I had before but I still like it! Plus being a SAHM I like the extra $$$ from what we were paying before! ;)

I have an 04 GMC Envoy which is just a decorated Trailblazer.

I love it, best 4 wheel drive i've ever had in the snow, out of Suburban, Tahoe, and GM Pickups- this one blows them all away in the snow. Its unreal how well it drives and handles in the snow

never noticed steering, but if your car now is older, it may seem more "on the ball" than an older vehicle.

28K on my Envoy and I will need to do brake pads soon, and the tires will need to be replaced this fall.

Only issue i've had is with the 02 sensor on the exhaust they keep replacing it, and it keeps tripping the SES light.

Other than that- I love my Envoy

I have a 2002 Trailblazer LT. I love it. We were hit by a semi last summer and it held up very, very well considering (7 weeks in the shop, but hey, none of us were hurt). Only thing I don't like is the gas tank only holds 17 gallons, and I have to fill up more often.
DH has a 2002 Avalanche he got just before 9/11. He also loves his vehicle, although I think it's too big.
We also like having onstar.

most reviews by the major car magazines (and Consumer Reports) have not been kind to the Trailblazer. My inlaws have got one they've had about a year. The poor gas mileage the Tblazer gets around town has them looking at the Honda Pilot. Consumer Reports Reliabilty is poor for the Tblazer.

If you can $wing the Pilot, you can't go wrong.

Of course it's rated low, we have one! Whenever we buy a car it ends up on the "don't buy" used list in CR. Can't believe everything you read.

When i called my insurance company to take off my Grand Am and add my Envoy- the insurance agent just had a claim earlier in the week of an Envoy that was hit by a 18-wheeler- all 4 in the envoy walked away with bumps/bruises.

I can tell you its cheaper than the 2500HD Crew Cab pick-up, and the 03 Grand AM SE2 to insure...

I hit a deer- 55mph extreamly large deer- they're guessing about 170lbs, 3K in damage to the vehicle, but nothing to me (yeah, the deer died though)...

I agree- you cant believe everything you read, and as for gas mileage-

18mpg around town- cant beat that with a SUV of this size, weight, and engine. I believe the Trailblazer has the same inline v6 which are great on gas, for the vehicle. Its not a vw beetle that gets 40mpg but I didnt buy it for its gas mileage

LOVE LOVE LOVE  my 2004 Trailblazer EXT! I was worried about the gas mileage at first, but we just got back from a 500 + mile road trip to Ohio and I thought it did great. At first I was intimidated by how big it was, but now I can't imagine driving anything smaller!
