Has anyone rented one here recently from Alamo?

I'm curious how much luggage can fit into one? It says 4 pieces of luggage on alamo's site but I was wondering from a first hand user's experience.

We will be traveling with 4 adults and a 1 year old and was wonder if it would be enough room to fit everyone's luggage if everyone had 1 checked bag and 1 carry on.

And the reason I'm looking at this vehicle is because it's about $70 cheaper than a Mini-Van through Alamo.

I own a 2010 Chevy Equinox and can fit a lot of luggage in the back. I will sit 5 people but there won't be extra room in the back seat area unless you place small bags on the floor where the 1 yr old sits(since his feet won't touch at all)
Last time(june) we took 2 big pieces of luggage(the biggest you can fly with) a carryone size piece(with wheels) a garmet bag, 28" duffle bag with snorkel stuff and a beach bag and backpack. Plus there was plenty of room to see out the rear window;)
We set each piece sideways with the garmet bag on on top of the duffle bag.

Thanks for the tidbit, was looking for a first hand experience. My just worried that it might not fit all our luggage and we would need to upgrade and wouldn't be able to get the price on the next step up.

So do u think 4 26" uprights would fit in the back with carry on's also?

I doubt you'll find an Equinox at Alamo despite it being advertised. The "or similar" phrase is the key - you'll most likely find the current Kia Sportage, Jeep Compass or Toyota RAV4 with 4 cylinder engine in the CUV line. Even in CA which gets the best vehicles first, I've never seen the current generation Equinox in LAX, SFO, or SAN. once Equinox production catches up to market demand, you may start to see these more, but right now GM can't produce enough for retail and has the vehicle on a fleet "hold".

Well damn then my luggage won't fit in those vehicles at all. Guess I'll either have to get a Mini-Van or stick with our Full-Size SUV.

My honest opinion is that you'd have more room in a full-size car. esp an Impala for your needs than the Equinox. Definitely more passenger room, we looked at an Equinox to buy, and the rear seat will be a tight fit for two adults plus a car seat. There's more passenger room in our Malibu than the Equinox, no less an Impala which is larger than the Malibu. The Impala has more trunk room than the Equinox has below the rear window.

With only 4 adults plus one car seat I don't see the nessesity of an SUV or Mini Van, you usually can get a full-size car cheaper.

We own a 2010 GMC Terrain which is almost identical to the Equinox and the backseat is very roomy. You should also have enough room to fit 4 suitcases in the back. The backseat is adjustable and can be moved forward or back as needed. You will definitely not have the same space in any of the other models named by other posters so you are wise to consider an upgrade. We love our Terrain!!

I own a Kia Sportage. I fit in 3 full size cases, 3 20" carry-on size and 2 small backpacks in the back of mine without blocking the window. If I wanted to load it all the way to the top (blocking the window), I'm pretty sure I could have fit at least another 2 large and 2 small back there.

There is a lot more room in a Sportage than most think.

regards
