Chess Nationals in Orlando!!!

I just found out my son's chess nationals is in Orlando. It is December 9-10. DH said we can add a week at Disney afterwords. Called my boss, got it cleared, now I just have to call DVC and we are good to go. I love having points, it makes everything so easy.

Is this the elementary nationals or JH or K-12? I coach a chess team and would like to see if we could drum up interest at the school for next year.

I can't find anything about this! We missed it two years ago while in WDW. Is it going to be at the Dolphin?

Maybe I can talk dh into staying a couple extra days so DS can participate this year.

It's K-12. I don't know what hotel it is in yet. We plan on staying at the host hotel for the week-end and then moving to SSR for the next week. I saw it in my son's chess magazine. I never thought it would be at Disney, just in Orlando. If it is at Disney that is even better. My other son and I can go to the parks while DH stays with the chess player.

I believe it's at Coronado Springs from 12/8 thru 12/10. Actually, I believe there was also a tournament going on either last week or this week .......I believe in one of the hotels on 192. That may be a regional tournament though.

I checked. It is at Coronado Springs. We will stay there for the first two days and then move to DVC. They have a tournament rate of $120 a night. That will save weekend points and make it easy for my son to take breaks between games.
