one of our fave things to do in the mornings at disney used to be to buy breakfast at the gourmet pantry (danish, bagels cream cheese and coffee) and then take a seat near the dock and eat al fresco under the most amazing florida blue sky ...

since the gourmet pantry got smaller we have never been able to find the delicious cherry danishes that they used to do ... they have other types but not the cherry ...

calling on everyone to help me find a cherry danish for my hubby ... we are going soon to celebrate our 15th anniversary and it is something he discovered when we honeymooned at wdw ... would love to find one for him as an anniversary treat !!!!

any ideas much appreciated ....

thanks
Lisa

I'm not sure if this is what you're talking about or not, but one of my favorite breakfasts is the cherry turnover at the Boardwalk Bakery. We don't normally eat danish, so I'm not sure if they have the cherry danish you're looking for.

HOWEVER...

I know that at the Bakery, they're very open to special requests. I bet if you called down to Disney World (especially one of the bakeries) they'd be willing to help you out.

Good luck!! :)

Someone correct me if I'm mistaken, but I thought I saw delish looking blueberry and cherry danish at the Main Street Bakery in MK.

Try calling Disney. As mentioned before they probably do special requests. Let them know about your anniversary. You could always write to them and request the recipe as well.

We ate at the Main Street Bakery on Friday morning (just returned home last night :sad1: ). Both of my children ordered cherry danishes- although they really only ate the cherry filling off of it!

My name is David and I'm a cherry danish addict! It all started with the Boardwalk Bakery...

Yeah, the Boardwalk Bakery for Cherry Danish and coffee any morning! BUT those sold on Main Street are better! We have been known to buy them at MK and carry them back to the room for the next morning. Please note- it is a morning thing so once they are gone, they don't make more until the next early, early morning! That goes for both MS Bakery and Boardwalk. We have also found them at Port Orleans and they were great!

I may be wrong, but I think the Gourmet Pantry at DTD now sells only cookies. Not sure... If you are staying in that area, just make a CD run and take them back to your room for the next day! It's still a great place to eat a danish.

We've also been seen going to MK just to get CD's to take home for the next day. Locally, I buy fresh cherry danish from Publix. My habit costs me over a dollar a day! But I can't help it. Nor do I want to...
