Chef's Table Question

I have a question for those of you who have had success in getting the Chef's Table at V&A. Did you make your own ADR or did you get the table by using concierge. If you did use concierge, has there been a particular resort that is more successful than others in getting the table for your desired night. The reason I ask is that I am considering making a short stop next Aug. at WDW to dine at V&A on our 30th before beginning our cruise but would only book that part of the trip if I could be sure of the Chef's Table.

We tried the AKL Conceirge 180 days out and were unable to get the Chef's table for the 1st week of December.

So, good question, how do others do it?

I made the reservation myself even though we were staying in SL concierge at the GF. I do think I made it right at 180 days.

We were dining in the first week of January which might have helped as well. :flower:

Amazingly enough, FH called on the regular WDW DINE line and got the Chef's Table for Valentine's Day next year. He called at 6:59am on 180 days out. We're really in disbelief that we got the reservation.

August tends to be a somewhat quieter time of year than the rest of the summer, and you might have more luck.

That is great. What a special Valentine's dinner for you two! I'll be looking forward to your review.

Thanks! And you better believe there's going to be a review :teeth: I'm looking forward to hearing back from how yours is as well, as I'm hoping it'll give an indication of the seasonal foods we'll be seeing.

Right now, we're trying to gear ourselves up for trying foie gras and I'm thinking it's going to take all 4-5 months to do it.

So far it would appear that my best course would be to try myself at the 180 mark.

Sorry, I wsn't clearer. We did the Chef's Table in January of 2003 for our anniversary. It was a wonderful experience.

Ah, I'm sorry, I did read that as "We ARE dining..." Glad to hear you had a great time, though!

Wanted to wish you luck with the reservation...just make sure that you call at the 180 day mark. I called at exactly 7am on our 180 day mark, and got it without difficulty. It's going to be our 'wedding reception' for just the two of us! I can't wait!

Last year I called on December 10th asking about May 30 through June 6. I was told of two specific nights available, checked with the people coming from out of town and was able to make the reservation.

The things to realize are the reservation for the one group for the Chef's Table is available 180 days out (not 120 as one post said) and there is no special benefit of going through a concierge. Once the one reservation is made there is no additional availability unless there is a cancellation.

We did the kitchen table on our 5th anniversary trip. When I callled a few months ahead, all of the days for our week were taken. I called the restaurant directly and left a message that we would like to be contacted if there was a cancellation during the week we were scheduled to be there. On our anniversary -- 2 days before we left -- we received a message that there was a cancellation for one of the nights we were down there.

It was the most UNBELIEVABLE meal I have ever had. Words can't describe the experience. It transcends speech.

I called exactly at the 180 day window for december 2005. I got the chef's table for my birthday. We have dined at Victoria & albert's many times but this will be our first chef's table experience. I would say call yourself directly on the 180 day window and good luck!!

I have the Chef's Table booked, as a surprise for my DH, for our trip in November. I called 180 days out at 7:00 am and got it on my first try!! I'd suggest you try for yourself.
Good Luck!
