Hi folks,

Just a heads up to those who have a reservation or are planning to book the Chef's Table at V & As, that the price has gone up to $200.

I only found this out when they brought me the bill, so explained that no-one had told me of the rise and that the description outside still had previous price on it. My bill was revised but I was almost ready to panic was paying cash on this visit.

It looks like the main dining room will stay at $125 in the meantime, and I think we may try the main dining option when we return in November. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal, a completely different experience from our previous visit three months before for various reasons. Hopefully I will be able to post a review on here once the jetlag wears off, although I will definately be posting both reviews with pictures on my facebook account first!

If anyone has any questions please dont hesitate to ask!

The V&A web site states that the price for dinner at CT or Queen Victoria's Room is $200. And if you want wine pairings it is an additional $95.

I imagine that there will be plenty of peoplewilling to pay the price for the Chef's Table and the Victorian Room. However, dare I say that I felt the standard of the Chefs Table experience was diluted by the introduction of the Victorian Room.

I would like to try the Victorian Room, but I guess I will wait until we have managed to move house, as we will have to save in order to move up the property ladder.

I am tempted to go for the regular dining option on our next visit, which will be a different experience yet again.

I believe it can sit one table of up to ten people, although the table there looks better to sit four adults. Perhaps they can bring bigger tables in to accomodate more diners, although I dont know if there is extra room for a larger table.

1) I think you are right.
2) I have eaten some very classy/stately meals in USA-Europe-Asia.
3) I can remember only one that could be worth at least $295 per person.
4) And, that was a State Dinner in a REAL castle.

I feel for the OP and others facing the price increase. You budget a certain amount and then get the bill and it is unexpected!!!

Be interesting to see if it is still as difficult to get as the price increases :confused3
