We are getting to go the week before Christmas and get free TS dining. Yay! :woohoo: After being on the phone with Disney reservations for what seemed like hours yesterday, I think we got some great reservations. We will be eating at old favorites and trying out new places. We haven't gone with the regular TS dining plan since our April 2009 trip, so this will be a departure from our QSDP preference.

Here are our dining reservations:
12/17 - Crystal Palace @ 11:50 am
12/18 - Whispering Canyon @ 6:25 pm
12/19 - Garden Grill @ 6:25 pm
12/20 - 50's Prime Time @ 11:35 am
12/21 - Chefs du France @ 5:00 pm
12/22 - Sci-Fi @ 11:25 am
12/23 – Cinderella’s Royal Table @ 5:15 pm

I thought our kids would enjoy seeing Remi at Chefs du France. I noticed on the Disney website it said Remi was only there 6 days a week. Does he have a set day off? I can try to change it to the 19th if Wednesdays are his set day off.

Also, is the 3 course pre-fix menu an option for those on the regular dining plan? Since an appetizer doesn't come with regular dining, I wasn't sure if they would let you order this and be able to use a TS credit.

Oh, if I could try to get into the Coral Reef...would you rather eat at Coral Reef or Chefs du France?

Thanks!

Edited to add: If anyone has photos of the kids meals for Chefs du France, would you post them or direct me to a thread with the kids meal photo? Thanks.

Remy is NOT there on Sundays
Inside Les Chefs de France.
Monday-Saturday at 12:30, 1:40, 2:50 & 5:20pm
He appears beginning at the times listed to make his way thru the dining room.If you are not in your seat ,seated late etc.And you miss him, you miss him.He does not come back thru.He has also been known to have technical issues and not appear, and without notice. For 5pm, I recommend getting there earlier and seeing if they can seat you.I had a 5pm last year and because of the Candlelight Processional pkgs, I got seated late and we missed him( we were seated at 545pm)

I would rather eat at Chefs de France than Coral Reef.

That being said...

Wednesday is not Remy's day off. I believe he's off on Sundays. Also, he might be "on vacation" if they are having technical difficulties. That's something to keep in mind.

I think the fixed price meal is considered ok for the DDP. I think that's why they don't allow substitutions. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong about that. ;)

I just changed our reservation up to 4:50 pm instead of 5:00 pm. What time would you suggest showing up for the reservation?

Normally I'd say a 4:50 reservation would be fine (half an hour before Remy starts his circuit), but a PP said Les Chefs was running behind because of CP packages so I would suggest getting a 4:30 res instead because...

...you have to be seated when Remy comes to your table. You cannot be in the process of being seated or away from your table (e.g. the bathroom). If you miss him, he will not come back and you cannot go up to see him. And 5:20 will be his last circuit so there won't be another chance to see him that day.

Also, he is a highly sophisticated audio animatronic figure than can experience mechanical difficulties and not appear. He has even been known to break down midway through his circuit and has to leave. If your children are young, I would not tell them Remy will be there, just let him be a surprise.

You can order the prix fixe meal on the DDP, but they will not allow any substitutions.

In order to get the reservation for 4:30, I had to move the date we eat there to Dec. 19 and then moved our dinner at the Garden Grill to Dec. 21. I'm glad for the advice now when there are still ADR's available to move around. I can't imagine how disapointed I would have been in myself if I had waited until last minute to ask these questions. I hope that Remy won't have to take a break, but I will let him be a surprise to the kids.

That's great that we can order the pri fixe meal on the DDP. I don't have to worry about not getting to make any substitutions...it will be hard enough deciding between all of the options available.

We didn't see Remy but did have the prix fixe menu. Highly suggest the lobster bisque. I could have had that and dessert and been fine. The entree just seemed like overkill. Of course this is one of the places we are repeating on our trip this fall.
