Has anyone ever shared The French Menu at lunch time? It sound good but not sure I could eat it all myself. Thanks.

I had read that this was a meal big enough to share. DH and I ate there in September and I suggested it to him. He's a big eater, though, and didn't think it would be enough food for him so we each ordered our own food.

I got the pain bagnat (a glorified tuna sandwich, very yummy!) which was huge and definitely would have been big enough for two people to share. DH got the toasted ham and cheese that comes with the French menu and it was your basic grilled ham and cheese sandwich. I think we would have come away hungry if we had tried to share it, but if you're not a big eater it may have been enough.

We ate at Le Chefs de France last April, and i ordered the French menu. If you were just going in for a late afternoon snack you could split it, but there is not enough food for 2 adults to split for lunch. I was not impressed with this restaurant- the service was horrible! The restaurant was not busy, and the servers were standing around talking to each other. We had long waits for food, and our server never checked back on our meals. We had to track him down through another server because he had forgotten an item we had ordered. I'm hoping we just hit it on an off day, but we left with the impression that we were an imposition on the wait staff.

I thought the service was fine when we were there, but I didn't like the cheese at Chefs of France. If you are used to cheddar, jack, provolone, and "cringe" american cheeses, the cheese they use in France is very strong. I had the onion soup (thought the strong cheese was okay in the soup) and the grilled ham and cheese sandwich (had a hard time eating the sandwich because the cheese was so strong, lots of water to choke it down) and dessert that was FABULOUS!! I don't care for custard, so I didn't have the Creme Brulee. Instead I had a tart with mouse in it - very good.
