I avoided Chef's de France for the longest time, because of alot of negative reviews. Once I finally decided to try it, it quickly became one of my favorite restaurants. However, I had to eat there on my solo trips, because my family didn't want to try it. Last Sept I made an ADR there and didn't tell my husband until the morning of our dinner ADR. He was not happy and told me he did not like having to waste a credit on something he knew he wasn't going to like. I had to insist that he at least try it. I ordered the rustic assortment of pates and charcuteries while he ordered the cheese plate. He loved his cheese plate, but I had to threaten him with my fork to keep him out of my pates and charcuteries. He ordered shrimp and scallops, while I ordered the duck and again I had to threaten to chop his hand off. For dessert he ordered a chocolate/banana/coconut tart, while I ordered the profiterolles. As we left we were both laughing about how much he 'hated' French food and how he hadn't wanted to go in there. He was so full he could barely move and as soon as we booked the trip for this Sept, he told me to make sure I had an ADR for "that good French place".
In addition to what I mentioned above I have also had the following at Chef's:
escargot, onion soup, ham and cheese sandwich with salad, salmon, creme brulee, and the best dessert I've ever had was a berry clafoutis. Everything I've ever had there was great!
