Okay guys I need help...here's the deal.
I'm going to WDW in Dec with my DDs (21, 18, and nearly DD 22). I've booked a meal for Chefs de France BUT see that many people don't like it. The last time I ignored this level of dislike I had a meal at Tony's Town Square, which was not very good food served by a man who clearly thought he was much better than me....so....is Chefs a repeat of the whole Tony's experience?

PS Given that his is a theme park I am not expecting a fantastic meal. I would like to have a pleasant evening though...

We have never had a bad experience at Chefs de France. I could make a meal out of just the French Onion Soup and the Ice Cream Puffs. Throw the steak in for good measure and I am thrilled. :thumbsup2 The service has always been good as well.

Chefs de France can even elevate a simple ham and cheese sandwich into "cuisine". Great food! And if you get a surly server, that's just part of the authentic French ambience! :)

Chefs de France is a must do for us! We like lunch better than dinner. They have a great french onion soup and fantastic desserts. I love nicoise salad which I don't find very often. If you're seated in the front room, it's great for people-watching. Bon Appetit!

And if you're seated in the front room late in the evening (i.e. around 9 PM) it's great for IllumiNations watching, too!

Though much of the show will be blocked by the bodies of folks standing outside the restaurant, watching the show.

DH & I ate there for the first time last year. We'd always wanted to go, but LeCellier is a must for us, and there often wasn't another day for an Epcot dinner in our plans...until last year.

The French onion soup is exquisite. However, we both ordered the roasted chicken and we weren't that impressed. It was just very bland and boring. I did see some other dishes that looked and smelled better close by that we both wished we'd ordered. If we were to go again, we'd eat upstairs. The creme brulee tasted very processed and it didn't appear to have been made with fresh vanilla beans, but I make my own at home, so I may be a bit biased in that regard

Service was okay, but just okay service can -- and does -- happen anywhere.

Definitely worth trying once to see if you enjoy it :)

We have eaten lunch at Chef's de France many times and dinner once. Each time we had very good service and treated like Belle at the Beast's castle by Lumiere and the gang. ("Be Our Guest"). :thumbsup2 I loved the onion soup and yes, grilled ham and cheese. The atmosphere is quiet but not too quiet and relaxing and our kids, princess: 11 and pirate: 7, enjoyed there meals. Please look at the menu before you go to see if the menu interests your party. I hope you try it :wave2:

We liked Chefs de France - I wouldn't say it was the "best" meal, but it was very good and the service was excellent.

we like going here for lunch - I especially like their quiche which isn't on the dinner menu ( or at least it wasn't the last time we were there). DH loves the onion soup.

I agree with an earlier poster - check out the menus in advance and if you see some things you and your DDs would like then give it a try!

We LOVED Chefs de France, and DH and I were only 26 & 22 the first time we went. We thought the food and the atmosphere were amazing. I only wish it was closer so we could go more often. I am drooling just thinking about it right now.

We went to Chef's de France for the first time at the beginning of April when on the meal plan. We REALLY liked it. The service was fantastic, and the food was spectacular. I highly recommend it.

Our favorite restaurants in order:
Citricos (Grand Floridian)
Chef de France (France - Epcot)
Le Cellier (Canada - Epcot)
Spoodles (Boardwalk)
L'Originale Alfredo di Roma Ristorante (Italy - Epcot)

DH and I have always had good service and enjoyable food at Chefs de France. We usually try to work a visit in each trip. You should try it!

We just ate there a few nights ago and thought it was very good. The onion soup was, like someone already posted, a meal in itself. The creme bulee was a bit disappointing but I managed to eat it anyway. LOL. The service was very good and our server was pleasant. I would definately eat there again.

As if you needed any more encouragement to eat here, here you go:

Chefs de France is amazing! I highly recommend the lunch. We had a bit of a problem with our waiter, who spent a lot of time at the bar talking to other waiters, but he was never rude or anything, just a bit inattentive. I would go back in a heartbeat for the food and the atmosphere!
