DH and I have very recently moved to Florida from California, and we now live about an hour and a half from WDW.:yay::cheer2::woohoo:

My birthday is Sunday, and DH and I are purchasing our Florida Resident Annual passes and are planning to spend the day at Epcot for my bday. We will snack a bit throughout the day and do one big meal for my bday dinner. I'm seriously thinking of Chefs de France for lunch, but have a few questions.

I like the sound of the Prix Fixe menu, but was wondering if the serving sizes are generous enough to be our big meal of the day. I would probably be ordering the prix fixe with DH choosing an entree. If we do it this way, is the creme brulee big enough to share? How does this restaurant handle birthdays? Do they do anything special or give you a special dessert?

TIA for any answers. Our goal since moving here is to eat at every restaurant on property once. This would be a first for both us and we could check it off the list. Plus, I love Remy!

Last time I was there I had the Prix Fixe menu. The creme brulee while not huge is big enough to share. It depends on how much dessert you like to eat. :D

I don't have a picture of it, but someone else around here might.

Can't comment on the birthdays because I've never had one there.

Are the serving sizes on the app and entree decent? Thanks for the input!

We ate there, the servings on the app and entree are fair I reckon. If you're a small eater, then sharing an app and a dessert while having separate entrees will work.

As for celebrations, we had my parents anniversary listed but there was nothing special whatsoever, so I don't know how birthdays would go. Remember that this isn't a Disney-operated restaurant so that could make things a bit different.

Please go check out my review in the link in my signature below, there is a review there with pics of the prix fixe :)

The portion should be fine to share. We think chefs de France is not a good place to eat but the serving sizes are similar to what you would find elsewhere

Bistro de Paris isn't Disney-operated, but Chefs de France turned over several years ago and is now solely operated by Disney. The only thing it maintains from it's non-Disney operation days is it's name.

Thanks for your input! :goodvibes

We were at Chefs de France in November and celebrated our DD's birthday. We went for lunch and selected the Prix Fixe menu options. DD got mac & cheese, lobster bisque and creme brulee, DH and I got the sandwiches, french onion soup and creme brulee and creme puffs. The food was very plentiful.... very. The lobster bisque or french onion soup would have been enough alone.... all are served with loaves of french bread and small salads. I can't imagine leaving hungry. They sang happy birthday to DD in French and Remi came to visit our table. We loved it and plan to eat there again. I highly recommend.

This is one of our favorite things to do in Epcot--Chef de France for lunch! We went in November and then again a couple weeks ago.

The food it excellent and you could probably share if you wanted, but DH likes the ham and cheese sandwich and I love the mac and cheese (definately not Kraft!) so we always get our own.

I was just there last week for lunch. I had the onion soup, (delicious... shared some with my youngest ds AND dh) mac and cheese.... yummy. I couldn't finish this either, and creme brulee... dh only got a bite of this. It was awesome.

Dh had the short ribs, which he said were great and we split a bottle of wine. It was one of my favorite meals of the trip! =)

Was definitely enough for our family, and we are big eaters! You get all that yummy bread, and then your very generously-sized apps and entrees, and then a fabulous dessert. And then they roll you out of there! :rotfl:

We did this for lunch last year- 2 of the meals between me, dh, ds 7 and dd 5. Kids like grown up food.

French onion soup- bowl is bigger then Applebees or Fridays.

Sandwich/Salad- good sized sandwich, small salad.
Quiche/Salad- decent sized

Creme Brulee- large
Chocolate cake-large.

We are not big eaters but we had plenty of food.

I thought I've read in prior posts regarding Remy's appearances that he doesn't make any on Sundays. So if part of the motivation was to see Remy, I would not schedule a lunch at Chefs de France on a Sunday.

Even though it IS your birthday.

The above post is correct - Remy does not appear on Sundays.

We ate lunch there last April and all got the prix fixe. Definitely were good portions and very tasty. Large bowls of soup, decent plate of mac n cheese (or a good size sandwich). We didn't get creme brulee so I can't comment there. We ate right at noon and were so full when we went to B&C for dinner that night at 6:00 that we decided to skip dinner and just get No Way Jose's instead!

The portions on the prix fix menu are the same as the same entrees on the menu- you just get a small discount for ordering them together instead of seperately.

When we were there for our anniversary they added a chocolate that said Happy Anniversary to the desserts we paid for but did not send out anything extra for us to eat.

We have enjoyed our meals although since many of the items are available at the bakery for a smaller price when we are tight on money we will order from the bakery instead of the restuarant but it is nicer to us to be inside and waited on.

Good to know about the serving sizes. I think we're still going to eat here even though Remy won't be out. I wanted to do this on our last trip and didn't so I really want to eat here. I figure we'll be able to go back sometime soon and see Remy then.

Thanks for all the input, everyone! It was helpful!
