Chefs de France? Is it worth OOP?

I have 8 dining credits but booked 11 restaurants and so I plan on paying OOP for 3. Is Chefs de France worth paying for out of pocket? We'll be dining at lunch. If not, I'll cancel and use a counter service dining credit which we have plenty of and EPCOT is a good counter service place. I plan on getting the prix faire (spelling???) plan. Mom will be paying OOP for her meal too.

I can't tell you whether you should pay oop or not but what I can tell you is that the food, service and atmosphere are wonderful. My family and I (wife, two sons and daughter) ate her for dinner it was excellent. I loved the food selection, the wine and the obviance. Very French (obviously). I would pay oop, especially for lunch as it will be a bit cheaper.

I've eaten at Chefs 4 times. Obviously I like it but I wouldn't throw away counter service credits to pay for a meal here. There are some decent CS choices at World Showcase that I think are as good as lunch at Chefs.

I second the suggestion to go for lunch. I've had lunch here a few times and it is very good, if simple. I've never gone for dinner but have read numerous accounts that are less than positive. When it comes to dinner, upstairs at Bistro de Paris is my number one pick.

If you've ever eaten at a La Madeleine you will find that it exceeds Chefs in quality at about 1/3 the price.

We had dinner there last May and the food was very good, as was the service. We also got to see that rat because I am a nice Mommy and my kids wanted to see it.

We love Chefs but I would definitely use CS credits. Sunshine Seasons serves excellent food as does Kringla Bakeri.

I am partial to TS for lunch as I need a break by then. We are early risers and eat a light breakfast.

However, if price and quality are an issue Tangerine cafe in Morocco is the best CS on property.

Thanks for the replies. It really helps me in my planning!

They have different menus for lunch and dinner. We have been there 4 times for dinner and really enjoyed it. I have been there twice for lunch and was disappointed both times. The food was fine, I just knew what I wanted off of the dinner menu and I was disappointed that I couldn't order it. Personally, there are other places I would rather eat for lunch.

Order from the Prix Fixe menu if your'e paying OOP, totally worth it and you'll gt a huge meal

we LOVE chefs de france! we've only done it OOP as this year is the first time we're using the DDP, but we would pay for it in a heartbeat.

I always go to Chefs for lunch, and as a passholder I pay OOP and use TiW. Wouldn't say its a must-do, especially if you're running out of dining credits. There are also many QS locations in Epcot which are great.

You can never do everything you want to do at Disney... this is why people keep going back. At some point you have to decide when you're done spending money. ;)
