Please give me your complete and honest thoughts on Chefs de France.

It would be HIGHLY appreciated :grouphug:

I've had one 'eh' visit for dinner and one fantastic visit for lunch. Like all Disney spots, it may be hit or miss.

For lunch, we did a late late lunch (after 2pm) and were one of only 2 tables of people in the whole place. When we dinner, we were practically elbow to elbow with the preschooler at the table next to us.

The food both times was great, esp the french menu for lunch. Loved everything!

Service both times was excellent.

It is NOT worth it!!

We went there in October 2007.

CM who seated us brought back a high chair for DS 2 (JUST turned 2 a few days before at Disney) Said high chair had a broken buckle on the safety strap. We requested another high chair. He said no, DS would be safe because of the safety bar in front. We asked him again to please get us a high chair that was not broken. He flatly refused and left.

We tied DS in to the best of our ability, poor little guy was squeezed to death in there and the nylon straps eventually came loose, so we'd have to retie him in throughout the meal.

Appetizers - YUMMY French Onion Soup

Entrees - Uninspired, boring, flavorless, cold and just not good

Desserts - NOTHING special. I expected way more from France.

Service - Waiter was rude, ignored us for most of the meal. Service was VERY slow. At the end of the meal (around dessert time) he suddenly began to shower attention on us talking about his grandson and how he watches him. He can only afford to do this because of this job and the tips he made there. Wonderful, I love a server fishing for a tip by trying to guilt you into it. :sad2:

Tables were very close together and it was quite noisy in there.

If we went back I'd just get the soup and then snack my way around Epcot. I'd also be a bigger pest and find a manager if we had a CM like that first guy who refused to get us a high chair that wasn't broken. That was ridiculous!

Tricia1972... :scared1: thats sad. If i were the server I would of apologized profusley and switched high chairs. Kids need to be comfy (and safe) too!

As for the food, I'm still on the fence on this one. Mainly because I've always wanted to eat in France but I'm not sure if I'd like it.

DH and I had dinner there 3 or 4 times. We think the food ranges from just OK to pretty good, but nothing to rave about. HOWEVER, it's a lovely, lovely space, design-wise, and it's well worth having a meal there just for the atmosphere.

It's definitely not worth it. I thought both the atmosphere and food were poor.

Not any more. Which is too bad, it used to be delightful. Oh well. Enough said about the DDP and its effect on 1TS restaurant dining.

It used to be a must-do every trip for lunch as we loved the place (was never all that impressed with dinner but did enjoy it for lunch). Unfortunately, we have also removed it from our list and do not frequent anymore.

We were there in Nov 2007 and everyone is our party of 12 that night enjoyed the meal. I think it was my favorite of the trip. Our waitress was wonderful and gave us her suggestions on what to order.

We had the onion and bacon tart and the cheesplate while our son had the cheese puff thing and they were all outstanding.

For dinner we had the filet and duck entrees and they were both great and cooked well. The potatoes that came with them were scalloped with sharp cheese and they were over the top good.

Desserts were a bit dissappointing. I think the French bakery has better selections but most of our crew got the cream brulee and I just dont care for that. The babys sorbet was outstanding.

We put it on our must do list.
