I made ADR for 7:00 PM at Chefs de France our first day in order to give us plenty of time to get to Epcot from the airport. I think I saw somewhere on the boards that Chefs has a good view of illuminations? Have I planned something wonderful without realizing it? :cloud9: that would be the ultimate irony :goodvibes

Anyone have info on Chefs and illuminations?
Thanks!

I could be wrong but I don't think you can see Illuminations well from that restaurant. It is not on the "lake", so there is plenty of walking/standing area that people will be lined up in watching the show.
If this is the case you should be done though to catch the show outside.

not a good view at all...even at the window seats, you're back too far to see much, if anything, outside the windows. Your view is people.

Chefs isn't known as a restaurant for fireworks viewing. If you're by the front windows, you can see some of the high fireworks and that's it. Much of the show takes place on the surface of the lake and you wouldn't be able to see that at all.

Thank you everyone for the info....i'll stick to the original plan of watching after dinner!;)

Illuminations restaurant viewing (rev 3/5/2011)
. . . Rose & Crown - Excellent Patio View *
. . . La Hacienda - Excellent Window View *
. . . Tokyo Dining - Good Window or Patio View *
. . . Chef de France - Obstructed Window View *
. . . Bistro de Paris - Partially Obstructed Window View *
. . . Liberty Inn - Obstructed Patio View

* Limited quantity of window or patio seats available.
If you do not get a window seat there is no view or a
poor view.

NOTE:
Seating for restaurants with Illuminations views are highly prized.
In most cases, you will not get a seat at a window. You may ask for
a window seat at the podium. But must take ANY seat when your ADR
is ready. If you refuse the alternate seating, your ADR is usually
cancelled. In the past people would make an ADR and then not eat if
no window seat. This left a lot of open seats in prime meal times.

We've asked for window seating at Tokyo Dining for Illuminations and for terrace seating at Tony's for the parades.

We've always been accommodated -- and have never been told our ADR is cancelled! I've often said, "I'll wait" and it's never been a problem!

We LOVED dinner at Chefs de France the last time we were there and have booked it again in August. We usually go earlier (5:00) so we can see Remy.

As others have said you probably couldn't see much even from a window seat however, there is a great spot on the bridge between France and England that you will be near after dinner.

I suggest grabbing a Grand Mariner slushie and watching from the bridge after dinner!;)

Have a great trip!
