I know I read it here at one time but I can't find it now. Does anybody know what Chef TJ's regular schedule is? I'm in the process of booking my ADRs for my August trip and we've never been to O'hana before. I want to try it but I'd really like to experience it when Chef TJ is working because his reputation is just that good. Anybody know?

Thanks!

I don't know but TJ is the best. We had him at Boma's and then followed him to the Poly. We have brought gifts for him our last trip. He is a joy and a delight!

The shift bids are either about to happen or have just happened. So his schedule maybe changing.

Thanks. When does this happen? What nights does he currently work?

After all this time of everybody else in my family getting their choices, I'm finally putting my foot down and getting some of my choices this trip. I really want to try my best to get to eat there when he's actually working. I know other chefs would take good care of us, but I'd really like to meet him and try his food.

I don't know the schedule, but when it was posted I know it was supposed to be Tuesday night. I made our reservation for that night in January and unfortunately he wasn't there. Like you, I just wanted to meet him and have a great experience. I must say though, the lady who was there that night seemed just like Chef TJ was there. I'm sure he trained the Chef's at Ohana's to be just like him. She was wonderful and the dessert she made my daughter was exactly like the one I've seen from Chef TJ.

If you look in post #3 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread, you will find some contact information for calling and emailing WDW for special dietary needs.
You may be able to find out his schedule from one of those places.

Thanks everybody. I got my ADR booked but it's on a Friday. D'oh! Oh well. I'm sure we'll have a great meal whether he's there or not but I sure do hope he's there. Hopefully if he's not there, he really has trained all the other chefs there to do things the same way he does as hetrickl experienced. It was tough even getting an ADR there for time of day we want on one of our days scheduled as a MK day (yes I do this kind of planning this far ahead; the joys of being rather obsessive compulsive and planning for an Aspie). We actually have an ADR for 3 rather than 4 since there were none for 4 but there was one for 3. The ADR system sure is weird. They're the same table size so I don't understand why they do this. Hopefully we won't have any problems but our TA will still continue to try to get us a table for 4. Sigh.....

Sorry:hug:

Hi! I don't usually read this board but we are traveling to WDW with my sister, who has CP and is in a wheelchair. ANyhow, I "know" Chef TJ from Boma, from years ago. My DD's favorite dish in the whole world (or World!) is peanut rice, and I was trying to find out when they served it as we were planning a birthday trip to the World. Although we weren't at Boma on a peanut rice night, TJ made DD her own special serving of peanut rice for her birthday as well as a WONDERFUL birthday dessert! I never expected this, just wanted to know the peanut rice schedule (turns out it's Monday and Thursday). It was fun to see his name here, and to know he's still making WDW special for everyone!

Boy, I sure hope T.J. isn't retiring in July! I will be so sad! I just had an amazing meal from him at 'Ohana. I knew about him prior to visiting and was so psyched to see him in person. He's amazing. And very accommodating and you can tell he truly loves what he does. Best meal of my trip hands down. And he let me take home the leftovers! I was hoping to see him this October when we go for my brother's wedding. So, I sure hope his retirement is a rumor and nothing more! If you get the chance to enjoy a meal he's prepared, you're in for a treat! :thumbsup2

Does anyone have any more recent information on Chef TJ's schedule or his possible retirement... I hope it isn't so. We have reservations at 'Ohana for a Sunday night in September and I was really hoping he would be there to prepare one of his fantastic vegetarian feasts for my best friend.

Last summer I called the Poly and a nice manager there called me back and let me know what nights Chef TJ would be working for the week I was going to be there. This was about a week before the trip though. Since you can make ADRs 6 months out.....well...
