Chef Mikey Alternative

Hello,

We are coming to Disney in April but can not get a breakfast reservation for Chef Mikey in the Contemporary until 10:45 AM. Needlless to say, 4 kids will not survive until then.

Is there an alternative to Chef Mickey that Mickey shows up to?

My son has become obsessed with Mickey lately.

Mickey is at the Tusker House breakfast (it's called Donald's Breakfast Safari) at Animal Kingdom.

Polynesian: O'hana Character Breakfast

You can find him at the Garden Grill in Epcot for Lunch or Dinner and Chef Mickey's for Dinner as another option!

We really enjoy:
O'hana Best Friends Breakfast at the POLY.
It has Mickey, Pluto, Lilo & Stitch.
The foods good also!

We ate here in Sept... no Mickey

Goofy, Minnie, Chip and Dale

Was still a nice meal though, by far the best for breakfast offerings in our opinion!

Many times we make a late bfast ressie for 11-11:30 (the latest they have) at chef mickeys and call it bfast for lunch. We just eat a small bfast in the room, like cereal. There's not many people there so no buffet lines--still lots of food, and Mickey and the gang come around quick.

I would eat a small snack and then have the later breakfast.

Or you can got elsewhere, we really liked Garden Grill in Epcot, we did lunch and Farmer Mickey was there as well as Pluto, Chip and Dale.

If my child was Mickey obsessed I would schedule both.

We couldn't get ADR's for Chef Mickey's for breakfast this trip either until 10:45 or 11:00. By that time I want to be in the parks and my DS 4 won't wait that long either. He'll want lunch at 11 am. So the CM doing ADR's suggested O'Hanas. She says it's her favorite character breakfast. We love the classic Disney Characters but we also love Lilo & Stitch so it will be nice to do something different for a change.

Did you consider doing Chef Mickey's for dinner? We traded our Chef Mickey's breakfast for dinner there instead. It's something we've never done and wanted to try. Our ADR's aren't until almost 8 pm but that's ok. Hopefully we'll get a good view of Wishes. If not then I think we'll get to see Wishes from Narcoossee's for Dh's 40th birthday dinner.

O'Hanas character breakfast is one of our favorites. You get plenty of time with the characters and they have a couple cute activies for the kids also.

If you want to stick with Chef Mickey's, you can do as the above poster mentioned - keep the late morning time and do it as a "brunch". We did this and it worked great - feed the kids a light breakfast in the room, go to the MK for opening and hit several rides with little/no wait, then take the monorail to the CR.

Under no circumstances would I trade this ADR. I don't think there is a substitute for Chef Mickey's its really unique and a definite hightlight. How about some morning pool time then Chef Mickey's? The character interaction, napkin waving, singing, monorail running overhead, group photo make it a memorable meal. Oh yea they have really good food too!
