Tell me about Character Dining at CM's I know everybody loves it, but give me some logistics. Times, $, what they serve, what was good, etc. Does anybody know what the latest time they do breakfast is?

We didn't "love it", we wanted to but it just didn't live up to the hype.

Fresh fruit selection was good, hot food items were fair, baked goods hit or miss.

Character interaction was ok, about what we have had at other character meals.

We enjoyed our character meals at Cape May and Crystal Palace more than Chef Mickeys but most people do rave. Guess it just wasn't our cup of tea.

Count us in the category of those who didn't love it. We were seated in a room with about 30 Japanese tourists who each had a camera and wanted a ton of pictures with the characters. This kind of took away from our experience because we had very little interaction with the characters. The food was alright, but it seemed as though the CMs were more interested in selling you the photos they took upon your arrival.
We went on our honeymoon at the suggestion of a friend who goes to WDW two or three times a year. Had I known about these boards at tha time, I probably wouldn't have taken her suggestion.
We're trying Crystal Palace in June and I'm hoping for a better experience.

We loved it too ! We've eaten there on each of our trips. Lots of character interaction w/Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and the gang. Good variety of foods to eat during breakfast time, and we especially liked the "lowered" breakfast counter where little kids could help themselves. Kids liked eating the Mickey waffles.... Of course don't forget to get your picture taken on the way in (ha..like you really have a choice). Enjoy !

We thoroughly ejoyed a late b/fast there as most people had already headed off to the parks. Generally we prefer character b/fasts & either go for the first or last sittings as we've found those to be more relaxed and less frantic. The characters did take a while to get round CM compared to CP, however once at the table, the interaction was very good

Could anyone comment on the desserts at dinner? My nephews saw the Unwrapped special on Food Channel this weekend and are interested in the unassembled desserts that were featured. I'd hate to make a PS only to find out this isn't really what is there.

Thanks much!

We had a lovely time at CM breakfast. We don't care for cooked and thought the buffet fruit, bagels and cream cheese and smoked salmon were lovely. The OJ was freshly squeezed, or at least 'with bits' and very good.

The photo lets CM down. It is automatic and they take only one. What are the chances of a good photo of a whole family when only one is taken? Anyway, when we didn't want it the girl turned from happy smiley disney into sour faced and moody. I referred to her a tink, but she didn't like it very much......

We would go back. Next time I will refuse the photo, which I should have to be proactive about as it seems part of the seating process.

Another, did not love it. It is in fact our least favorite Character meal of all we have done. Nothing was bad, but it just was not that good either. Our service was poor on a morning that was slow. We had to just about beg to get OJ refills. The food was Ok, but the selection was no where as good as Donald's at AK. The character's barely stoped by and we only saw them once. The little napkin wave was fun, but it's not a repeat for us. For dinner we like LTT at MK, breakfast at Donalds, and lunch is pretty good at CP.

We also did not care for Chef Mickey's. The food was good and the character interaction we ok. But over all we have had better character meals and would not go back to Chef Mickey's. The food and the character interaction was better at both Crystal Palace and the Garden Grill. We always heard that Chef Mickey's was the best but we do not agree.
