We were thinking of booking a character dinner with DD (aged 7)at Chef Mickeys during our stay in July.

Does anyone have any info on this restaurant: menu/price/characters etc?

Thanks

I have to say I wasn't that keen about going here for dinner buffet - HOW WRONG WAS I :teeth:

It's fab - The salad bar is great with some really nice shrimp salad and other stuff - I could have filled myself up on this alone.

They had some chowder style soup which I had to have 2 bowls of coz it was scrummy and very flavoursome.

Finally OMG the parmesan mashed potatoe and flank steak oh and prime rib - divine my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

This was the first lunch/dinner buffet I've done on WDW property always usually do breakfast but I was not disappointed - gonna try Cape May Clam Bake next trip.

Hope you do Chef's and enjoy it as much as I did Sue :)

You will love Chef Mickey's for dinner. I spent a lot of time around the dessert bar :D As Sam said the mashed potatoes were yum!!

Hmmmm ..... I took my two last year (aged 6 & 9 then) and, yes, the grub was good, but I wouldn't go back.

It was very big and very busy and the noise from the monorail was noticeable (maybe because of where we were sitting), we had the rudest and worst server I have ever encountered and I didn't feel the character interaction compared well with other character meals we have gone to.

However, one poor experience doesn't mean that everyone feels the same - as the posts above show, and I hope that your meal is great! :)

Can ayone tell me what the breakfast is like? We're all hearty eaters (including my DS, in fact he eats more than me and he's only 12!):D . I am thinking of booking a PS for this when we go in August.
Any info/advice would be appreciated.

We've been twice, the second time just recently when my daughters were 6 and 10. I heartily recommend it. The food is a typical buffet style breakfast and all the usual is available, well usual for the USA ! The place is quite big and there is different styles of seating. On our first visit we had a booth style table with the kids sitting on the outside facing inwards. They couldn't see what was happening behind them but we could see the characters approaching. The looks on their faces was magical. They were 3 and 7 that time. For our second visit we had a standard table, maybe because there were 5 of us. This wasn't quite as good, but still great. Seeing the monorail going through the hotel was weird, but not noisy. The place is noisier than a normal restaurant because of the high ceiling (several storeys high), but not unacceptable. The character interaction lasted longer than you'd get in the parks and you got more than 1 visit. Our service was good, not exceptional, but nothing to complain about. I can't compare this to any other character meal because we've not done any others. In addition to squitty's list was Minnie.

In conclusion, I'd say go.

We loved Chef Mickey's. Haven't done breakfast there - only dinner but the food was plentiful and extemely edible. One time we were lucky enough to get a window table with a view of teh Castle - unfortunately there was no FITS that night otherwise the view would have been superb !

It does get very noisy though with all the kids and servers singing , dancing and waving their napkins very 30 mins to 'Celebrate with Mickey Mouse' !!
