Chef Mickey's?

I have been trying for a couple of months to book a table at Chef Mickey's. I check online 3-4 times a day everyday. I was finally able to get a reservation at CRT using this strategy, but I still can't seem to find one at Chef Mickey's. Any other tips?

I am thinking of just going early in the morning for breakfast and chancing it, since our trip is just a couple of weeks away. It's our first trip after having kids, so I'm surprised to see so much demand for character meals. Go figure. :confused3

Also, if anyone is thinking of cancelling, please let me know. We will be there 4/1-4/7 as a party of 4, and our son will be forever grateful. :worship:

Character meals are very popular with Chef Mickey's topping the list. It will be very hard for you to get a reservation now for the first week of April.

Have you tried calling the reservation #? That is an option that has worked for for me in the past. Nothing online, but the CM could find me a few openings when I called. Couldn't hurt.

Good luck and enjoy your vacation!

Chef Mickey's is in the top 5 in popularity, so always difficult getting a table - let alone Easter week. When trying to pick up a cancellation I always found that the best time to find something online was very early in the morning. Not sure what time zone you are in, but I'm talking something like 6am Eastern time.

Chef Mickey's is one of the most popular restaurants in DW so it's among the more difficult places to get a reservation. Booking reservations open up 6 months in advance and CM fills up almost immediately, especially during busy times such as Easter week.

The good news is CM is a credit card guarantee restaurant (because it's a character meal) so people who decide not to go will cancel their res rather than pay the no show fee. As a result you may have some luck snagging a last minute res. Keep trying as many times a day as you can now, and if you have a smart phone or internet access you can keep checking the Dining res page online even while you're at DW. You can also check at Guest Services or your resort concierge.

Be flexible as to time or date since it'll be Easter week. Sometimes they extend CM's hours during busy times.

This will not apply to anyone who made an ADR for that week at the 180-day mark, though. Those people would have gotten in just before the CC guarantee went into effect (probably not a coincidence that it went into effect for a time right after a big busy period). But anyone who made an ADR within 160 days or so for that week would have been subject to the guarantee.

That's true, but since it's been in effect since Oct 26 the OP has a better chance of getting a res since anyone who reserved since then and changes their mind will probably cancel to avoid the fee. Overall, people seem to be reporting more availability at cc guarantee restaurants since this policy went into effect than when there was no penalty.

Thanks everyone for the tips! I checked very late last night and finally got a table! My son is definitely pleased. Looking forward to the trip! :cool1:
