Chef Mickey's ?

are you going the chef mikceys for breakfast or dinner? chef mickeys is my favorite breakfast buffet tje food is really good and chracter interaction is good the dinner is also good.

Below I pulled out from my Trip Report last year. I was not happy w/ the food at CM's compared to other buffets. Not sure if it was the late night thing or not. The kids LOVED meeting all the characters.

We hopped on the Tram, the little mans were able to ride with Uncle Greg in the front on the way to the Contemporary for our 9pm ADR at Chef Mickey’s.

I'm not sure if it was because of the late Dinner...but the food was HORRIABLE! Well, let me take that back. The Tomato Bisque soup, Mickey Ravioli, and Blueberry Cheesecake Tart were good. Everything else was lousy. We have ate at Hollywood & Vine and Crystal Palace buffets and the food was good, so maybe late night problem? Not sure, cause the Salmon, Prime Rib, and Turkey were even horrible and they just brought it out. Besides the food, we enjoyed the characters.

We've been for both dinner and (more recently) breakfast. I preferred breakfast. My kids loved it . . . as for the "dark" comment, kindof bizzare. That has got to be the brightest restaurant on property!

Thanks Rolie, always great to get the opinion of a Burgher. :thumbsup2 Not many favorable dinner opinions. Most of the favorable ones are breakfast. Not like I'd expecting the Pittsburgh Chop House or a Lobster Roll from Roland's. ;) My wife just thinks it may taste like Cleveland food-LOL. Now I have an important follow up question.... Can you play QB? :rotfl2:

No its definetly not the Chop house or even Primanti's, but its descent, and definetly not Cleveland food. We seriously in 10 + visits have never had a bad dinner. Maybe we just aren't that picky, who knows ? :confused3

The character interaction is a little rushed, but seriously I don't want each character hanging at our table for 10 minutes. I want them to take a picture, say Hi and leave. I want to eat my dinner. I love the napkin twirl and the desserts are awesome.

Wish I could play QB, but unfortunately I cannot. Stupid Ben! :sad2: We always go to the ESPN club to watch the game since our trips are always in the fall. Hope we can do the same this year.

We enjoyed the brkfst...it is not gourmet...but it was quite good I thought...the character visits are fun...not extremely long...but nice none the less....we will definatley go back and would recommend it to others...it was very clean and we had no problems with waiting too long...

Chef Mickey's is the best buffet in Disney World to eat at for kids. It's so much fun and so much Disney feeling going on here. :worship::thumbsup2:cool1::banana:

We do CM for breakfast every trip. It is on our must do list! My DD is very picky so for us, breakfast is better bet that she will plenty to eat that she enjoys. We have only had poor service once, and I suspect that was b/c we were a party two and the servers other tables were bigger parties. He visited those tables frequently, and barely stopped at ours. The food has always been delish, and I never noticed the restaurant to be dirty. It's a wonderful expererience.. your niece will love it.

We had breakfast there on our most recent trip (March 2010) and it was wonderful. We had a very early reservation so we did not have to wait long before we were seated. We chose not to have our picture taken, and I'm not sure if that made much of a difference, but it probably got us seated a little faster.

Our service there was actually one of the best we had all week, so no problems there. The food was wonderful! They have an amazing fruit selection and all the standard breakfast fare-everything was clean and wonderful. We also sat in the dining room where the characters begin their rotation so we were pretty lucky in that they all got to us pretty fast.

This is the second time we have visited, and very quickly becoming a "must do" on our trips. I can't vouch for dinner, though, but I would definitely recommend breakfast.

We have been there 3 times, everytime was good. The food was good, since I have kids we like buffet food and the no waiting to order. But really I thought it was nice there, good service, the characters stayed for a good amount of time and some visited twice. I did not find it dirty or loud. I have an ADR for my next trip. We also love going to Crystal Palace good food there. But 1900 Park Fare not so much, we were only there twice before the remodel.

CM is a must do. It's all about the experience. We happen to love some of their foods like the parmesan mashed potatoes, their ham, good salad bar. Decent breakfast, glazed doughnuts are out of this world. We stay at the CR so it's extra special for us.::MinnieMo
