Trying to figure out a sitdown for one of our Magic Kingdom day. It's down to Chef Mickey's or The Plaza. We have a few other character meals booked. Thoughts?

Definitely the plaza. Decent food at "good" Disney prices. Chef mickeys is a shoneys buffet at four star prices. Enjoy the characters elsewhere.

Plaza. You don't have to leave MK, the food is good, the prices are rational, and you have a nice view of the castle.

Plaza over Chef Mickeys any day! I only love Chef Mickeys for breakfast. Dinner was horrible. Our experiences for breakfast and dinner were night and day. I love the Plaza Restaurant. The food is so good and great quality without dishing out over $40 per person for a meal. The icecream sundaes are really good too! They have the best french fries I have ever eaten in my life!

If it's dinner, then I say The Plaza. It's one of our favorite places to eat in WDW. Simple but good food, great desserts. Nicely air conditioned and a nice break from the park.

Chef Mickey's has a great Character interaction, but since you have other Character meals planned, no reason to go out of your way. Then again, Contemporary is a 10 minute walk from front gate of MK.......

But there is nothing wrong with saving time & $$ at the Plaza.

I would have to go with The Plaza. Chef Mickey was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever encountered in WDW; if it were not for ABC Commissary, it would have had the dubious honor of being the worst. At CM we encountered horrible service, and when I mean horrible it was horrible. It was almost impossible to get refills on our beverages, the food was "Golden Corral" in quality, and they did a horrible job of replenishing the buffet. Never again for me.

Plaza is a no brainer for me. Chef Mickeys was a one and done for us, never again.

We enjoyed both, but they are very different experiences so it depends what you're looking for.

For us, The Plaza makes for a better lunch spot. It's inexpensive and essentially a notch above QS. The place itself is very small and lacks atmosphere, but the food is very good. The food is primarily sandwiches, burgers, etc. IMO, better lunch fare. Chef Mickey's is obviously a buffet and character meal, so more expensive. Being a buffet, you have more dinner type entrees and can have a more substantial meal. It's also a loud, crazy, atmosphere where the kids seem to have a good time.
