Chef Mickey's or Donald's Safari?

I'm trying to decide which character dining I want to do with Mickey & Friends. I've narrowed it down to either Chef Mickey's or Donald's Safari. We'll have two days at MK and one each at the other three, but we'll be doing CRT on our first MK day, so I'm not sure that I really want to do character dining on both MK days (that's likely when we'd do Chef Mickey). For those that have done both, do you have a preference?

Hands down Donald's Safari for us!!@!!! Tusker House is awesome - read my thread "Goofy, your fly is down" in the theme parks forum (I think you can do a search).
And if you get an 8 am ressie, you can have a leisurely breakfast, enjoy the charatcers and then be outside for rope drop and be on the first safari.

Chef Mickey's, hands down.

Donald's Breakfast Safari was good, don't get me wrong. But Chef Mickey's seemed to have a much bigger selection of foods to choose from. And Chef Mickey's seems not so cramped and crowded, even when it's packed full.

Donald's Safari Breakfast...without a doubt!!! IMHO, there's greater variety and better food options at Donald's, plus it's the only place you can see Daisy (character dining-wise, that is). It's nice seeing the Fab 5 at Chef Mickey's, but even still, Donald's overall is better, at least for our family! ;)

Donald's is a littl harder to get to, unless you are staying at AKL...but, I thought the atmosphere was really laid back compared to Chef Mickey's! I love both, but you do get to see Daisy Duck! I love both, hard to pick! I think Donald's is a little bit cheaper....

Donald's Safari Breakfast is not at Animal Kingdom Lodge, it's actually in the Animal Kingdom Park at Tusker House, so if you are spending the day in Animal Kingdom, it's the easiest thing to do....and my preference anyway!!

We've done both. Without a doubt I say Donald's. The food at Chef Mickey's (both times we have been there) was horrible. Food and character interaction at Tusker house was great!

Have you ever tried to get to EE at rope drop after your breakfast? If so could you beat the crowd from the front of the park???

I think it depends on what's more important, food or character interaction.

We've done breakfast at Tusker House and loved the food. It was really, really good! The characters went by so quickly. They barely spent any time with us at all.

We've done breakfast at Chef Mickey and liked the food (not as good as Tusker House, but still good). The character interaction was much better.

We just did dinner there this past Saturday night and the character interaction was incredible. The food was good enough, not incredible, but good. We had an 8:20pm reservation. I was afraid that it was too late, food would be bad and characters would be rushed. I was SO wrong! The characters were amazing with my DD and 4 yr old niece. They spent so much time doing pictures and interacting with them. Then, as the restaurant started to empty out, they came around a 2nd time and danced and played with the girls. They were in heaven. Seriously the best meal of our trip because of the characters. They really gave my DD a chance to warm up to them and then she loved them. CM is now a must do for us.

I haven't tried for EE, but I'd bet you could. Not everyone is tall enough for EE, so the Safari is actually in higher demand...and being in the first truck is pretty awesome...the animal s were very lively

Everybody will have their own preferences. Do you like extremely traditional breakfast foods? If yes then the food at Chef Mickey will be to your liking. Do you like a wider variety of breakfast foods? If yes then Tusker House will be to your liking. Chef Mickey is brighter and the tables aren't as close together and has the fab 5. Tusker House has Daisy who can't be found elsewhere. Tusker House is right in the park while Chef Mickey requires walking to MK (or monorail, but walking is faster).

I like the last breakfast seating at TH. You still get the characters but the interaction is less rushed. You pay breakfast prices but you're likely to get some lunch offerings as well as they swap out the buffet. You get to enjoy a few hours at the park starting at rope drop and then take a nice break in the air conditioning.

What is the latest you can get a breakfast seating???
