We'll be three ladies and one peanut-allergic little girl age 4.

If we can't get a Cinderella's Royal Table breakfast reservation, which would you choose: Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace?

Our aim is to have breakfast finished in time for rope drop, so we'd like 7:30 or 8am CM or 8am CP if possible.

Both are buffets, correct? Are the menus very different? Which would you choose and why?

We've never been to any of them -- CRT, CM, or CP -- before.

We make our ADRs next week. I'm not expecting to get CRT but I will be online at 6am to try! Then I will call at 7am if unsuccessful!

Thanks!!

Hands down....crystal palace over Chef Mickey. Just came home yesterday. Went to both places. We absolutely loved Chef Mickey in previous trips however this time around, service was bad, food was worse. Crystal Palace was wonderful.

:thumbsup2Don't give up on CRT. Make that your first ADR to request. Everyone must try CRT at least once. I made my ADR's at my 90 mark and had no problem. We have never tried CP and are trying for Breakfast for the first time in a few weeks. I have only read good things about CP. We always do CM for breakfast and dinner. Both my boys absolutely love it. It's great character interaction and the food is good for breakfast. However I didn't really care for the dinner. But we mainly go because the boys love seeing Mickey and Minnie. Enjoy and good luck with your ADR's.:cool1:

I definitely wouldn't count out CRT. I have been "practicing" my adr's to get used to the system before I have to make mine for real next month and I have been very surprised that I have been pulling up CRT breakfast and plenty of lunches, and this was at about 9am eastern. I was looking for a 10:25 am breakfast so we could get fantasyland done first and then have a "brunch". Of course it will probably be more difficult to get an 8:05 but you might be able to do it right at 6am.

If you don't get it, though, I loved CP. We went when my daughter was 3 and had an 8:05. We were actually the first people to be seated and were out the door at 8:50 after seeing all the characters. We really enjoyed the food as well and the service was great. It was nice being able to wait at the "internal" rope drop at the castle and being ahead of the crowds. I haven't been to chef mickey's so I can comment on that.

For me, it is all about the experience. I love to kick off my vacation with Mickey at breakfast!! I love Crystal Palace and try to eat there at least once each trip. For my upcoming trip I was able to book both, but CM's for our first day at the park. :cool1:

Oops, I made a mistake. I only have reservations at Crystal Palace, still looking for CM's!

Without a doubt, Crystal Palace. Love the puffed french toast and the potato casserole (and, of course, you have Pooh and friends!).

If you trying to get to park from rope drop, Chef Mickey will be a challenge. You either have to walk over from CR (about 15 min) or ride monorail through GF and Poly to get to MK. So, from CRT or CP, I would definitely take CRT. My DDs (7,5) love CRT and meeting all the princesses. Good luck!

Puffed French toast????

We need an early ADR because we are coordinating our girls' breakfast with the boys' activity.

I have been to both.
Crystal palace food is good and service has been consistent all of the times that we have eaten there. Pooh and Friends are fun.
Chef Mickey is really fun. We like to wave at the monorail as it passes by and like to see the big guy. We have been lucky great service and food. Only once was the food just okay.

With that said

I would go with CRT or CP for rope drop. Chef Mickeys you would be a dead run to make it and you want to enjoy your breakfast and be able to see all the Character

Food wise CP hands down. Can't beat the french toast there. CM is a must for my family just because it's so much fun and a tradition for us. It may be hard to make it to rope drop if you choose CM. I have NEVER been seated on time there. Usually have to wait 20 min or more. Once waited 45 min. Good luck w/ getting CRT.

Do what our family does - do both! We've found that CP is our favorite breakfast place, hands down. Getting into the MK early if you have an early reservation, the food, the character interaction...it was great. In fact, it will be our only breakfast ADR in June. We also LOVE Chef Mickey's, though. We just prefer it for dinner - ideally, it's our first real dinner on our trip. It just helps to start our trip with Mickey and the gang! We did try CM for breakfast last trip, but we didn't like it (the food or the fact you were much farther away from the parks) nearly as much at that time of day).

No ? for me Love Chef Mickey's . Been to both many of times. The experience at Chef Mickey's is SO much better.:worship:

I would go with Chef Mickey's because it's a great atmosphere, plus it's great seeing Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto all that one location.

I have only ever done CM's for b'fast and have loved it everytime! We did Crystal Palace for dinner the last time we were there and I thought the food was okay. My kids are picky eaters and they thought it was okay as well. I'm also not a huge Pooh & friends fan so that may have attributed to me not caring for it as much.

Thanks for the input everyone! We were able to get a CRT breakfast reservation when we wanted it  BUT we've added another character breakfast, so we're going to do Crystal Palace on our last day. whoohoo!

You know what WDW needs, an all-day breakfast buffet. I would book one every day of my trip if they weren't so stinkin' early in the morning. :rotfl:

We had a wonderful experience at Crystal Palace! Our server, Kyle, was awesome and the food was very good. We also spotted Joey Fatone eating with his family. Our server said that he sees a lot of celebrities eating there, so you KNOW it must be good!!
