I am trying to decide between CM & 1900PF. Here is the info:

DS9 and DD5

Already have CRT, Sci Fi, MM, Coral Reef, Le Cellier for dinners.

We would do dinner only & are on the regular DDP.

Basically, I'm trying to do TS meals that will be fun for everyone. If I do 1900PF, it seems that the characters are somewhat of a repeat, however, it seems (based on reviews) that the food is better.

CM seems to be more boy & girl friendly (or rather my son won't get bored w/more princesses), but I've read a lot of mixed reviews on the food.

Thoughts?

Thanks everyone! :thumbsup2

I voted 1900....

I prefer the food of 1900 over CM and we LOVE the Stepsisters and Lady Tremaine at our house!!! :rotfl2: I'm also traveling with two little princesses, so that might skew my opinion some. BUT, the food is better at 1900. :cool2:

I voted Chef Mickeys because I really can't see a 9yr old boy liking the princess theme and the food at Chef Mickeys is not that bad.

We have 3 sons, and from the time they were little to now that they bring their own DS, they have love Love LOVED 1900 park faire. The breakfast has always been very non-gender oriented, but the dinner and stepsisters are hilarious, and all the CM's are great with interacting with the young (and older) princes.

the food at chef mickeys is BAD....we have been 3 times and each time it gets worse....no more for us.

we did breakfast at parkfare and the food was ok. mad hatter was great

It really is a toss up...they are both "must do's" for every visit for us so it is difficult for me to choose.

I think both have the best character interaction of ANY of the other character meals at WDW, but I give a slight edge to 1900 Park Fair for better food.

Our first TS is ALWAYS at Chef Mickey's. I...um I mean the kids... get to see the Fab 5 first thing and we don't have to worry about tracking them down in the parks.

We love it for both breakfast and dinner.

It's been several years since we have eaten at PF, but we really enjoyed our meal at CM last year. The characters were great.

I've never been to 1900 Park Fare but I've heard nothing but good things and the last time I went to Chef Mickey's I was dissapointed. The characters at Chef Mickey's are great, but we went for dinner and there was a very limited selection and some of the food was empty and/or cold. If you don't care about the food then Chef Mickey's is great for characters. But if you want a good meal too I'd give 1900 Park Fare a try.

I voted for CM. I see that you are doing the CRT, your daughter will love it. So I think your son would enjoy CM.

That's a tough one!

Chef Mickey's food is very inferior to 1900 PF, in my entire family's opinion, but you'll already be seeing Cinderella once and visiting with the "originals" is fun and just about necessary for us when we come to Disney World. So, I reluctantly voted for CM ... but go knowing that nothing, except the parmesan mashed potatoes which are fabulous, is really that tasty.

We had a horrible experience with Chef Mickey's with poor selection, awful food, extremely noisy environment and even the soft serve ice cream was soup  On the other hand, we had two outstanding times at 1900 Park Fare :yay: The food both times was great and the entertainment with the step-mother and step-sisters was totally hysterical :rotfl2: They all stay so perfectly in character and it is a hoot :woohoo: One time at the Park Fare the roast beef was too well done for me. The cast member went out back and cut into two more roasts until he found one done the way I like it :goodvibes

1900PF, the food seems fresher and Lady Tremaine and the Stepsisters are so funny!

A 9 year old boy will have a much more violent reaction to princesses than a 5 year old girl to Mickey.

And I don't understand why the reviews of the 1900PF food is better. My family liked the Chef Mickey's food better. And the atmosphere at 1900PF is much more fru-fru.

I think the problem with asking for advice on food is that no two people have the same experience. I don't think the selection at Chef Mickey's is poor, and never had a problem with the soft serve. It can be noisy, that's true.

Meanwhile, I didn't like 1900PF at all. We saw the mice, Prince Charming, and Cinderella, and they were all boring. And the decor makes my eyes hurt. Much too pink and fru-fru.

Both choices are not our #1 choices, but given the two, I chose CM. We went to 1900 Park Fare dinner this past December and had very high hopes with the entertainment (I have already read different reviews on how the food is o.k.). Well the only characters that really spent some time with us and made us laugh was Prince Charming and Cinderella. The Step Sisters and Lady Tremaine just came around and signed the books and took pictures, never really talked with my DDs. As for CM, the characters are more both boy and girl friendly IMHO because Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto are all there plus the food is better. The only thing wrong with this restaurant, in our opinions, is that we felt very rushed....there was no character interaction. We'd much prefer to go to Akershus breakfast or Cape May Cafe breakfast where the character interaction is top notch :goodvibes

I voted for 1900 Park Fare. I think the food choices were better. And we ate here in Dec w/ my 8 yr old son and he had no problem w/ the cast of characters. He still talks about it. And when the Prince stops by I think he would tend to give more attention to a little boy which for my son, made a world of difference.

I voted Chef Mickey's for several reasons...

First we have had a tradition for years to go to 1900 Park Fare for Christmas Dinner as a family. This year we were so dissapointed. The quality of food has gone down since they did their remodel and reopened. We decided that we would have to move our tradition to a new restaurant for the coming years. Too expensive for what we got.

Second you are already doing a Princess Dinner and your Son would love the interaction and singing and dancing at Chef Mickey's as well as your daughter enjoy as Minnie is there as well.

Hope that helps!
