Chef Mickey's or 1900 Park Fare

I thought it would be fun to start off our trip with a character meal at one of the resorts on arrival evening. We won't be entering the parks that day. I currently have 1900 Park Fare booked, but Chef Mickey's is also available. Which do you think is more fun? We have a party of 7 with 4 kids ages 3-9.

We are doing the dining plan and have several other character meals planned throughout the trip if that helps.

I would def do Chef Mickey's...we always go there on our arrival night.so much fun!

Fun factor: 1900 PF always boasts one of the best character interaction meals on property, arguably, the best.
Food factor: 1900 PF has far better food.
Cleanliness factor: 1900 PF never seems as abused as CM.
Noise factor: 1900 PF is plenty noisy, but it's a manageable level. CM's gets low marks for often being plain loud.

Winner? Not surprisingly, 1900 PF, hands down.

I have not been to Chef Mickey's, but we had a great time at 1900 Park Fare. The food was very good for a buffet, and the Tremaynes were our most favorite character interactions of our whole trip. It was very loud that night and we will usually pass on a place with an uncomfortable noise level. So, so glad we decided to suck it up and stay.

1900 Park Fare. It has 4 characters you cannot meet anywhere else, the food is varied and good, the character interaction is top notch and it has some amazing Cast Members working there.

Chef Mickey's- especially with the ages of the kids.
CM's get a bad rap on here but the food was ok for us and character interaction was great.
We actually did not enjoy 1900- maybe it was an off night for them. The character interaction was good but I am thinking with the ages of the kids with you- Chef Mickey's!

1900 Park Fare is really funny. Unless the kids really want to see Mickey, I'd do that.

We prefer 1900 PF. Never had a bad experience there. Chef Mickey's is just okay for us.

I'd stick with 1900 PF. I've done both. Since you will be seeing the same mostly the same charters at Tusker House as Chef Mickey's. Also, the food is better at 1900 PF.

We loved 1900 PF at dinner. The step-sisters "fought" over my teenage son and made such a big deal over him which I thought was great as older kids sometimes do not get as much attention. We did not like breakfast at 1900PF as much, primarily because of the character experience.

Chef Mickey's was also great when we went several years ago, but was not as enjoyable on our most recent visit. But hey... You are at Disney so you can't really go wrong!!! LOL

We did the same thing on our last trip and it was a great way to start the trip. The characters were great and it set a great tone for the trip. I am not a fan of the food there and but having the fab 5 there was great. All the pictures and autographs were done without wasting time in the parks
