We are making our first trip to WDW May 7-14. We have 2 boys- 4 and 10 months. I wanted to do something fun our first night there and thought maybe we could do the Chef Mickeys character dinner and then take a ride on the monorail. Can you just jump on the monorail and ride around, even if you are not going to a park? If we get on at the Contemporary, can we ride all the way back without getting off? I just thought this would be a fun first night at WDW. Any advice would be really appreciated! :D

Chef Mickey is awesome, we have done two charactor breakfasts there and our kids just loved it. Dh and I did too. Haven't done the dinner one but I bet its great.

Yes you can ride in the monorail with out getting off.

Have a blast!!!

Yes you can ride with out getting off but you can also transver monorails at the TTC and catch one that goes through Epcot. No admission needed. We really enjoy that our first night.

Like the other poster said, be sure to ask for a ride up front (theres room for 4). You may have to wait for an empty monorail, but its worth it, especailly when you first exit the CR (though in the dark it might not be as exciting, but for a second its scary). Also, if you do get up front, be sure to ask for a pilots license (small biz card saying you drove the monorail and you can fill in your childs name). Theyre great for the scrapbook and not many people know about it. You can also get something similar for the MK train.

This is our first night in WDW tradition!!! We always eat at Chef Mickey's, then hop on the monorail to TTC, transfer to the Epcot monorail, get off...run over to the TTC side and ride back, transfer to the CR run and back to CR. It's a great way to start the trip, especially after a long day of traveling. Then you can go back to your resort and get a good night's sleep and start refreshed!!!!

We are doing the same thing on our first night! We have a 4 yr old DS! I thought he would love a ride on the monorail after Chef Mickey's for the first night!
