Chef Mickeys gets a bad rap!!

I was able to score last minute ADr to CM last week and we went Sat night. We had about a 20 min wait and when we were seated we had great seats! Right across from the bar, next to the dessert bar and rght where we could see monorail coming in and out!

Character interaction was very good, we were so happy with it especially since it was my step sons first interaction with characters. Minnie kissed him 3 times, he brought Mickey a plate of cheese which Mickey seemed thrilled about!

Food was great, maybe the other reviews just had an off night in the kitchen? The parm mash potatos were great, scalloped potatos even better, rare prib rib delicous, cheese raviloi good and I had a salad and some cheese cubes. I ordered a pina colava and it was great as always and we enjoyed the mickey oreo bon bons and rice crispie treats.. Server was wonderful, one of the best I can remember having in all my trips actually! We defanitely will be going back!!

I agree with you that CMs gets a very bad rap. We LOVED our dinner here in summer 2010. Now, I'm not trying to say it's gourmet or anything, but it far exceeded our low expectations, and I thought that as far as buffets go, it was very good. The beef was really good with the horseradish sauce and those cheesy potatoes...YUM! I also was impressed with the wide array of salads that were interestingly and sometimes even exotically seasoned. We had FANTASTIC character interaction (2 adults and 2 teens, we didn't get snubbed at all for not having little kids), and you really can't beat that setting. If we go back, we will definitely ask to wait for a table in the main area (so we can watch the monorail). We love doing the napkin dance on the first night of our vacation! It really gets us in the Disney mood!
