Hi just made a reservation at Chef Mickey's for the Character Dinner. We have done the breafasts here before but never the dinners....wanted to try something different this year and we are doing the Character Breakfast in Epcot/Princess Storybook.

How is the dinner? Food selections for adults and children...What characters are there?

We will be staying at AKL...is the best way to get there to take the bus from AKL to MK and then either walk or take the monorail over to Contemporary.??....

Thanks!

though i think the breakfast at CM is better than dinner, it was ok. we got married at disney and actually had our rehearsal dinner there (lots of kids, LOL).

imho, yes, that is the best way.

We love it at Chef Mickey's and always start our vacation off there. Last year we arrived on Thanksgiving Day, so we had our "Thanksgiving Dinner" there.

There is always lots to choose from and the food has always been good. The deserts have always been good too.

This is my DS5's favorite restaurant.

I've dined there before for breakfast and have always enjoyed it. On my last trip, I decided to try it for dinner. YUK!!! Worst meal I had at WDW!!! The food was awful and the service was so-so. I'd go back for breakfast, but not again for dinner.

I went back and read your questions. Here are a few answers:

Characters:
Chip & Dale, Mickey & Minnie, Goofey, Pluto & Donald
They sing a fun song and you twirl your napkin. The kids get a hoot out of doing that.

Food Selections for Kids:
Mac & cheese, chicken fingers, hot dogs etc.
Adults:
Prime Rib, ribs, peel & eat shrimp, garlic mashed potatoes. I can't remember everything, but its always tasty. I would imagine there is always a chicken and fish dish too.

How to get there,
It depends on where you are coming from. If its your resort....then drive over (unless you don't have a car). It will also depend on what time you are going. Magic Kingdom closes at 6pm many nights, so the buses might not run to or from there very late. You could take a bus to the TTC. That might be easiest.

We have eaten both breakfast and dinner at Chef Mickeys. My DD11 absolutely loves both meals. There is no going to WDW without going to Chef Mickeys. The food is awesome!!

We ate there on our first night of our trip- I think that was a mistake for us. We had just flown from Oregon and been up since 4:30 AM with two small children. We were VERY tired and not very hungry. However, I thought the food was good- I tried the Mickey ravioli, the fish, the veggies, a little salad and bread. Oh and the parmesan potatoes- those were tasty. I can't remember what my DH tried, but they had chicken fingers, mac and cheese, pizza and little hot dogs for the kids. There were many things to choose from and for dessert you could make a sundae, there were several cakes, petit fours, cookies, fresh fruit. Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale walked around the tables and posed for pictures, and Donald and Goofy were in the lobby. If you are staying at the AKL, I think your best bet is to take a bus to either the MK or TTC (depending on the time) and then hop on the monorail to the Contemporary. The restaurant is on the same floor that the monorail stops on.

We luv CM for dinner and breakfast. We have to eat there at least once on each trip!!!

We had dinner at Chef mickey's our first night at the world last trip and we all loved it! The food was good, characters were fun. Our girls can't wait to go back.
